i have owned my tribal for about 5 years now and i haven't used it in about 3 years, i almost sold it, but changed my mind, and am now glad i did once i found this forum, cuz i was convinced that tribal owners were extinct. my marker is a completely stock twister 2.2 and from looking around on this forum for a bit, it seems that it is imperative that i replace my regulator and my AOC. is this true, and do any of you recommend any other definate upgrades?

thanks

I was in the same postion about 3 weeks ago, and asked the same Questions.

The anwser to replacing the AOC is definately. I went with Edwins LPRC which is both a LPR and a volumizer. It is amazing, compared to the stock one. Edwins site has 3other fixes for the AOC all are good. After fixing that try your stock regulator, it may be adequate for your current needs, if you are not getting consistency in your shots (FPS) or you are experiencing shoot down, then take a look at the HPR that are out there. There are tons, and some of the best are the cheaper ones IMO, I love the CP HPR, and find it better than most of the higher end HPR's that are 40$ more. I would also look into a new chip if you want some serious firepower and more options. ASP has the fury, a 40$ brilliant little thing that boosts BPS into the 20's and adds turbo, auto respose and trigger selection. There are others too, the Warlord, Morlock and etc, but they are expensive, 200$ +.

oh here is a link where shifty explains (to me) what the advantages are to each of the different AOC options are.

scroll half way down and he has pics of each one and tells what they are, very informative.

*ugh* Yes, for a wide variety of reasons, I strongly advise all Tribal owners (usually new, but every so often, we get an older owner like yourself, back from obscurity) to replace their HPR at the least, and if financially feasible, their AOC as well. The stock Tribal HPR will eventually go tits up on you, is no longer supported by the manufacturer (we're the closest you're going to get, and w mostly just tell people to buy an aftermarket), and there are plenty of better designed (and manufacturer supported!) inlines out there for reasonable prices. Same for LPRs: ASP's LPR adapter is very affordable and there are tons of new and used 'cocker regs out there that'll give you more than enough performance. Of course, there are other LPR options out there than just ASP's LPR adapter, and both are pretty good.

Other than that, high flow ASA screw (a must, the stock screw has a passage like a coffee stirrer), Fury chip, one of Edwin's shorty bolts, an aftermarket valve (as we're finally getting someone to manufacture them again *happy dance*), or a gripping feedneck. None (besides the ASA screw) are utter must haves, but always good investments.

Oh yeah, linkage:
Edwin's Tribal Parts and Accessories (http://www.tribal-paintball.com/products.html)
Air Soldier Products (http://www.airsoldier.com)

Beyond all that, a good air system and hopper are a must. Just like any other paintmarker out there. =)
