I want to get a new aftermarket reg for my twister cuz i took it apart the stock one and sure enough there is a lip carved into the exhaust valve from the adjustment screw. i don't have a lathe or the skill to chamfer it, so i'm just gonna get a new one. and i've been looking around on manufacturer's websites and they all say that their reg is the best, so would any of you guys be able to tell me what the best reg i can get for my tribal is?

thanks

actually, does anyone know of where i could get new exhaust valves that are chamfered, cuz i really like the look of the stock reg, or should i just get a new one?

Actually, if you like that ergonomic look, go for a WGP Ergo reg - same general looks, decent price, and a decent reg to boot. Or, if you're looking for performance at a decent price, I've always liked Palmer's Stabilizer, AKA's Sidewinder, and MacDev's Gladiator. The ultimate in performance (as well as cost... you get what you pay for) is AKA's 2-liter, test proven by our own Have Blue.

Other than that, no one sells chamfered exhaust valves, bud, sorry. Hell, I don't even know if our resident airsmiths/shop techs would even perform the service for less than the cost of a new, aftermarket HPR, but you'd have to ask them.

And welcome to the Tribe! =)

AKA Regs are the only way to fly.

Ergo regs are cheap and good. AKA and CP are the top two that I would suggest. If you want to keep the stock reg (albeit it has horrible flow characteristics and stock isn't very consistent at all), I can chamfer the reg piston for you pretty cheaply.

I had a CP on my tribal and liked it so much i put one on my 'cocker. One of the best regs on the market IMHO.

I know i am probably going to get shit for posting this but...i find the stock Ion regs to be VERY VERY consistant.

I shot 8 shots in a row over the crono they were 270,270,268,269,272,275,267,269...

You cna usually pick up the Ion regs for like 10-15$, but I do agree that the CP and the AKA are great,

i have never seen a consistant black magic, It is one of the worst regs I have ever seen. Although I have heard other ppl say they are the best they have used, there seems to be a mix ration of 7:3 wof ppl who hate to ppl who love them, ....I think WGP should get ISO 9000, then maby they wouldnt have such a high rate of lemons.

same thing with timmys

also gladiators tend to drift after a bit though so you need to reset them every once in awhile
