Does anyone have a double trigger laying around? heres my problem. i have a flame twister and I want to make it a double trigger. But i want to keep the stock frame cause its also flame annoed to match the body. So i was thinking of just cutting off the trigger guard, smoothing it out, and dropping a double trigger in. Anyone have a better idea?

There was a thread a while back(in this modification forum i think) about installing custom made gaurds onto the frame, using either a tribal 2x trigger or a custom one, so it's been done before.

I think Bullschmidt2k3 was experimenting with triggers a while back(nothing special), and I'm sure others have toyed around with there CNC machines(cough andy cough)... but it's definatly possible. it might not be easy, or pretty for that matter(if you take shortcuts and/or are impatient), but it's definatly possible.

I guess if you wanted to spend the extra cash, and ask around for someone to custom do it..... the machinist's on this forum could do just about anything you need... for a price.

I'd say if your confident about doing it yourself, go ahead and buy an entire 2x trigger tribal frame(gl), and use it as your 'doner' frame.
If your not to custom-stuff-savey, ask around for some service.

(I don't want to keep throwing Andy's name out there, b/c he might not be able to handle the extra work right now, but it's worth a shot to send him a PM about it.)

I'm in the process of doing a couple prototypes for my ol pal Shifty. When they're completed I'll snap a couple pics & post 'em.

Yea he was saying something about that. Are you talking about converting his 2.0 flusters to 2.2 flusters??

single to double.......not flusters in general.

If your using the original frames I gotta see this. If looks good kaos I'll have to send you my flame twister. I want it double trigger, but I want to keep the frame cause it has the flames annoed to match the body.

I have another that I was in the middle of just before my move but that's been put on the back burner until Shifty's are done. I'll be doing the triggers out of a delrin/copolymer and maybe one of the trigger gaurds too. I think i'll try doing a metal trigger gaurd as well and see which I like best.

So are those the original frames, or custom made frames?? Could you just hack the trigger guard off the original frames, drop in a doube trigger, then attach a double guard?

I love the one with finger ridges built into the frame... wait! I got one of those on the Twister I picked up. *oooh* Got an additional step to the Work Horse Tribal collection. *evil grin*

So if I sent you mine do you think you could do it and keep the flame anno intact?

Had that offer made by multiple sources at different points in time. Sadly, like all other things Tribal related, not enough Tribal owners to sell to. *sigh* Pretty much gotta pay custom fee to have a shop make one up custom for ya.

Thats exactly what is done.

Kaos, if you don't mind saying... how are you attaching the new metal gaurds to the frame? thick gauge solder?

I think he's tapping 'em in the top, drilling a hole thru the tub, and puts a small set screw in to hold 'em on. But I could be wrong, Kaos?

Close Bill.......
I'm drilling a hole into the tub portion and then tapping threads into it. Then I'm leaving enough stock on the end that attaches to the frame and using a die I put threads on it and screw it in. I screw it in all the way, add a partial thread if needed to align it right then back it out, dab some red loc-tite on and thread that sucker back on.
Besides the one round stock style that is shown, I'll be working on 2 newer styles. One will be a more traditional metal flat stock and another will be a delrin/copolymer. The metal ones will be bent into shape while the delrin ones will be cut and shaped from a block of plastic.

Here's one I had about 1/2 done just before my move started. I took a couple hours to just about finish it off because I'm thinking about doing both metal and delrin/copolymer trigger frames so I wanted to see how it would turn out. This ones also a little different in that I used an aftermarket Cocker double trigger "shoe" to create the 2x trigger.....
