Hey, I got my eye board today, and I soldered everything according to the limited pictures, and schematics I could find. I turned the marker on, the eyes dont work, I know this as the leds wont light up when the beam is broken, and when the beam isn't broken, the electronics still cycle. Anyone have any ideas? I checked over all of my solder points, and no errors, or shorts in them.

Hey guys, I'm just an idiot... I resoldered the eyes on, and figured out that the eyes no worky good in light conditions :( you guys can yell at me now, if anyones even viewed the thread yet lol.

An LED, IRLED, or the IRTransistor could be put in backwards. Did you follow the pictures of the pictures of the detectors:
http://www.tribal-paintball.com/bbpackagedetails.pdf
The cathode and emitters pins can only go in one way. If you got them (or one) in backward it will not work properly.

Do you already have the marker drilled and the eyes installed??? If the IRtransistor (Detector- the black one) isn't in the gun and all light sealled from it, it may be detecting the light in the room, which will make it think it is NOT seeing a ball. Try covering the black detector with you hand, this will make the board think a ball "broke" the beam.

Note my picture it is pretty detailed and matches the pdf of the baord layout.

Notice how I left the detector, emitter and clear LED legs the actual length. I didn't clip them to show which leg (long or short) went to which solder joint.

Damn---all that typing for nothing!!!

But my answer was in there and I would have helped... ...if I could have typed quicker.

I think I may have had them backwards, thanks for the help anyways. I'm gonna make up a tutorial over the next few days to help poor souls like me lol

Fishy you are the man!!! 15 years old and you can solder those connections. That's great.

I was trying to get Warped to finish up a manual, but he got to busy. If you get a real good manual together with step-by-step instructions and pics, I will give you a free kit.

It's a deal, I can have something written up by friday or saturday, I would have it done sooner, but I'm pretty tied up with work.

Please take your time as it has to be a HOW-TO with step by step directions.

Ahh yeah, sorry Edwin, I just kind of forgot about it. I don't work on LED's anymore. I can send you what I had done of the manual if you want.

I think you already sent the manual on LEDs. Not a big deal.

Hey, sorry guys i've been really busy with work, and getting some markers up and working to sell lately. I've been plugging away slowly, but am pretty far from completion. Sorry for the delay.
