One new question, one old one
I took my bbt out saturday to chrono and fling a little paint for the first time after having the obligitory upgrades, and noticed a couple of things and wonder if I should worry. When it is fired at full speed (fury, 20 bps) :ThumbsU3: there was a LOT of bounce in the gun I mean the end of the barrel would elevate from 1/4 to 1/2 an inch from shot to shot. Whats the deal? is the lpr turned up too far? velocity was 280fps +/- a couple.
While in the process of doing this and repainting everything in site a friend said that he noticed alot of metal to metal noise coming from the gun. I heard this as well , is it the hammer or maybe the bolt pin? I heard a horror story of a bolt coming too far back in the cycle and the bolt pin hitting the body and denting the top tube itself, I dont want this to be a possiblity. Any thoughts?
And lastly Im just lookng for an explanation of what I did several years ago to my first tribal (go get a cup of coffee this takes a minute or 3) :beer1: My first tribal was a twister 2.0 with stock everything. While at the local field after a couple of games the gun stopped working, it would cycle but not transfer air down the barrel. Nowadays I would have adj'd the lpr but then I had neither the tools or the knowhow to do this. I thought about it for awhile and with my limited knowledge of the gun came to the conclusion that the hammer, striker or whatever it was called was moving but not far enough to open the valve. So I opened the gun and located the hammer and unscrewed it a little so that in my mind I figured it would travel far enough to open the valve and fire the gun. After putting it together and airing it back up everything worked like a charm and proceeded to hose the kids with the angels that laughed at the guy with the broken gun. It may be a coincidence but after that my gun got better mileage out of a tank, is this possible? and is what I did to the gun harmful?
