hey, i really want to get a 2-liter, however, i have 2 questions for you guys.
1) should i get the 2-liter, or 2-liter plus?
2) if you go to the website, should i get the LO version, or the HI version?

thanks

1 - plus
2 - low pressure version. Tribals don't need much input pressure.

i just got my new 2-liter+(low version) in the mail and i hooked it up and no matter how much i adjust the output pressure screw, the pressure gauge still reads 650 psi when not firing, but as soon as i pull the trigger it goes down to 300 psi, then back to 650 immediately. i'm sure this isn't normal, any ideas what i am doing wrong?

i always run mine on a little on the highside so i get the hi-version.
sounds like its creeping...is it shooting hot and then goes back down after a couple shots?

What pressure gauge are you reading off of? What is your input pressure into the regulator?

when i shoot, the needle moves down to 300 then back to 650 really fast and it keeps doing that. i'm using a 0-700 dye gauge, and i don't know how to check what my input pressure to the reg is, i looked at the reg on the tank and it doesn't say........ any way to figure out what that pressure is?

What brand is the tank? And the gauge is showing output pressure from the reg, ie: its on the ASA, correct?

the tank is a pure energy tank, and the reg is directly on the 2 liter, its not on the asa.....i think 2 liter's can only handle 600 psi max input, perhaps the input pressure is too high?

the reg is directly on the 2 liter
i mean the gauge is directly on the 2 liter

anyone know how i can figure out what the pressure is coming out of the tank and how i can tweak it to what i want?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 2-liter only has input ports. If you have a guage on one of those all you are seeing is the output pressure from your pure energy tank. About the only way you'll be able to see output pressure is to tap a 1/8NPT(right?) hole in your ASA. I would not do that unless you are an experienced machinist or you send it to Andy. I'm not sure of the flow characteristics of the pure energy tanks, but that big of a pressure drop doesn't seem good.
One more thing, about the worst guages I have used are the Dye branded ones, I've had 3 go bad on me in 2 months using them. Any other brand I've used I have not had any problems with sproinging (technical term) the needles.

yeah, i think you are correct, i think the pressure i was seeing what the recharge rate in the reg. i also found out that the output pressure of the reg on my tank is 750psi (hyper flow 420) and the max input pressure of the 2-liter is 900psi, not 600psi. So, i think i'm okay. what does ASA stand for? is that the vertical adapter body?

pressure i was seeing what the recharge rate
I mean 'was' not 'what'
also, i found out what ASA stands for, air supply adapter
is it highly recommended that i get a gauge on the ASA, or am i fine without one?

That's all personal preference. Some people like to see how much pressure is running into the gun. I run one on my autococker, but they way I hold most of my guns I prefer not to have a guage getting in the way.
