View Full Version : BBT leaking

ok, simple problem, I know. but I'm a little confuzzled anyway.
My BBT has an ASP LPR adapter, shocktech LPR, and is otherwise stock.
when I air it up it leaks from right around the inline ASA, I believe on the front side of the ASA. The ASA o-ring is clean, intact and lubed. I replaced the Tribal ASA with the ASA from my Bushy (they are the same size and screw threads) and the leak stopped, I don't know why. I put the Tribal ASA back on the tribal, but this time new oring, still leaked. whats going on? is the ASA just messed up somehow?

that hole infront of the asa hole some times isnt covered by the asa so it leaks just stick a wad ofteflon tape on the hole and tighten it up

Nope. Outreach-you suggestion will possibly work as a "fix" but it isn't a true "solution" to the actual problem.
That is a vent hole for the original AOC. Most likely the first (the one closest to the valve spring) oring on the ASP LPR adapter is nicked. If HP gets past that oring it will vent out of the little hole under the ASA block.

alrighty thanks guys. I thought the air was coming out of that tiny hole but couldn't be sure. The bushy ASA is totally flat on top, so yeah it probably was able to snug up tighter against the gun body and seal that hole. I was hoping I would be able to fix it without removing the LPR adapter but I guess I'll have to just bite the bullet and do it. that thing is a pain to get off and I don't have any wrenches at school that are small enough to remove the hose barb, but I'll figure something out.

needle nose plyers should work on them unless there loctited in..
worse comes to worse I would suggest just taking a grub screw if you have any small enough and just thread it into the hole, of course you would have to have a tap/screw to do that

Hmmmmm..... that still doesn't sound quite right.
If you have air leaking out the atmospheric hole (hole you been talking about), it would still leak regardless of which asa you used, or at least it should. Are you sure you don'r have a nick in your Tribal ASA screw?? I've actually had one over the years that I had to finally use teflon tape on.
Also... if you are sure it's the "a"hole try removing the ASA and screw and putting a little oil in there to lube up that bottom o-ring on the asa adapter. If it works then you won't have to take the lpr and adapter off......

its not coming out of the main hole in the ASA (the hole in the screw or the hole in the ASA which the screw screws into). there is a tiny hole on the bottom of the body slightly in front of the big main hole, I believe that is where it is leaking. I put some teflon tape in it to plug it up and it helped quite a bit but not completely. I removed the LPR adapter, the orings are in pristine condition. I havent even used the gun since the adapter was installed (I bought the adapter new). it is all clean and lubed.
I also have another problem. before I thought the gun wasn't shooting because there wasnt enough air getting to the noid. however, now there is definately enough air getting to the noid. but the noid wont work. it clicks when the gun isnt aired up, but when I air it up the noid leaks when I turn the LPR up enough for the ram to cycle. I put the noid from my twister in the BBT and that made it work fine, so its got to be a problem with the BBT's noid. I took the noid apart, no debris in there messing up the piston, reassembled it, still no worky. do i need another noid or is there something I can do to fix this one?
BTW its not the battery either, i tried a fresh one.

usually if the air is getting to the noid , its getting around the orings on the lpr adapter.
take the lpr adapter back out.....take the orings off and put a little piece of twisted up thread tape in the bottom of the groove where the orings go.
then put the orings back on top of the tape....maybe a little snug when putting back in but that should clear up that problem.
on the noid once you get the air fixed try to reset the little white button on the noid when air is to it.
sometimes it will get it to start working

thats a good idea, building up the o-ring grooves with teflon tape for a tighter fit. ill try that.
i already tried the button, didnt help.
