OK, I know most of you younger guys probably couldn't find anything interesting about my water diversion project so I figured I'd throw this on to sorta balance thigs out... Craig & I got our first look at a "Carwash Bazooka" at FFO this year. Here's one I threw together a few weeks back. It's at a simple basic stage now. I'll add a breech load and angled ASA adapter next.... Uses a 5000psi power wash handle and can accept a fully charged c02 or compressed air source. Just load and fire.... and repeat.

How many shots can you get off a standard 68/3K tank? 20oz CO2?
This is one of those slap your forehead and yell *d'oh!* for not thinking of it sooner kind of idea.

Good question.... I will have to go get a scuba fill in the next few days and put a fill on one of the 68/3k tanks and see how many shots I can get. I'm sure my wife or one of the neighbors will probably wanna know what the hell I'm doing...

Yeah I bet they will!!!
Since it is a burst of air that is determined by how long you hold the trigger in---it should use a lot of air!!!
It does seem simple as they come.......

Funny you should mention that. The one Craig played around with at FFO did NOT continue to let air escape eventho we kept the handle depressed. This one however will. Still... I just give it a quick pull and then release it. Nerfs away!!

What kind of range can you get with that configuration

from what we tested at FFO they are short of a normal launcher by about 20% but still very good.

Since you're not regulating the pressure from the tank, you could probably get an increase in range by lengthening the barrel. Up to a point, at any rate. And if you got real fancy and made a sabot or something to get a better seal behind the Nerf dart, you'd probably get even more range.

it is not needed, like I said it is about 20% short but when you talking about shooting a nerf about about 1000 ft which is the ballpark for our normal launchers only shooting 800 feet is still way more than needed. yes you could make the barrel longer and do things to make it more efficient but it just adds complexity to a simple straight forward design that works great.

Aye, s'true. 'Sides, most of the time you're probably shooting at far closer ranges just so the vehicle crew has zero time to react to you. I just can't leave "well enough" alone, you know me. =)

Of course!
"We need some balloons to make kids happy."
"Here you go."
"That's not a balloon, that's a zeppelin!"
"Obviously kids like bigger balloons, so as big as this one is we only have to have one for all of the kids, and it will also provide transportation home for them all, they just have to make sure and hang on real tight to their ropes."
*evil grin*
