Hey all
Maddman has just released a speed wheel for the Halo hopper
This is a wheel you put over the spindle of the motor to increase the feed speed of your Halo to 133%
we are offering them at a price of $10.95 if you interested you will be able to get them on our site

Hmm so how exactly does this work? And i have the victory board so does that mean if i have it set to 35 bps it will now feed 81 bps???

133% of 35bps is 46.5bps. You're using 233% in your calculation.

your right Bob,
and it is all relative a halo with a victory board is rated at 35 BPS but it can only feed that at burst's not all the time. what our wheel does is it changes the diameter of the pulley on the motor. so the motor in effect travels 33% farther than a stock pulley, so i am going to put some #'s to it fo an example "if" a stock pulley in 1 revolution causes the belt to travel 1" when you put our pulley on the belt will now travel 1.33" for the same 1 revolution thus you get a 133% increase in speed. what this means is your halo will be able to sustain a higher BPS than it currently does each halo is a bit diffrent and can maintain diffrent speeds so we dont make a claim to the actual BPS rate just that is will run faster than what it curretly does. it will be able to maintain higher sustained feed rates also. it is a WIN WIN

Not to be a downer, but isnt 1.33" only a 33% increase over 1". 2.33 would be 133% wouldn't it? Math never was my strong point, but regardless I shall be picking one of these up soon when I'm ready to hit the field again!

i got a pulse for 80.00 ....... sponsorship really does pay dividends.......that stuff is fast.
but i have a halo and will look into this

Holy crap $80! So would it really be worth it to get a pulse over my halo with victory? Is it that much faster? Ive never seen a pulse in action yet. (live that is)

its alot faster to me.....as well as the antijam where it will run reverse dislodge let go of button and resumes forward

it is a 133% total, not 133% gain.
and I need to do some checking but I think it will fit right on a pulse also so you would get a 33% gain on it.

So you're technicly speaking of simple cam dynamics.... right? This being the case for the moment I'll assume that only the feed wheel side "disk" has changed size to achieve the 33% gain. If so have you considered slightly reducing the motor end disk so it can spin a little faster?? It would also allow for anothe small increase in the feed side..... might turn the 33% gain into something in the 40% range. I don't have one in front of me so I can't get measurements to support any of this but it seems solid thru common drive priciples.

actually we did not do anything to the feed side, we increased the diameter of the drive side to allow it to travel further, the motor has enough torque so the increased size does not slow it down. so for the same work you get the drive band to travel further thus increasing the speed. no room the modify the feed cone to a larger size.
