My first post! Hopefully I'll be accepted into the ranks of TOG given time- But for now, I look to your wisdom on these markers. Onto my story!
Around 3 years ago, I visited PBN and PBR almost 24/7.. I was infatuated with paintball, and the last marker I owned? A Tribal BBT! Now since then, I've been through basic, a couple months of work, then deployed. After hitting the last leg of my extension, I've decided to splurge a bit! Why did I decide to continue playing with a tribal you ask?? Because I love unique.
:trouble2: Yes, yes, here we go! In order, Not including how much I pleaded Warped to take on this project! (Thanks Andy!)
1st step; Purchase a Tribal Mephisto from Psychowarden, complete with a Sys. X barrel, and AA reg. (Thanks warden!)
2nd Step; Purchase a No-Rise feedneck, a HF ASA screw, and a LPRC from Edwin's shop (Thanks Edwin!)
3rd Step; Came across a Macdev 7 piece Matchstik kit.. Promptly snapped up, and sent to join the rest of the gear!
4th step; Found the tank perfect tank! Or so my dreams tell me.. a 70/45 Crossy, with a grey Dye cover! SCORE! :kickedin:
Lastly, Now, I'm looking for a specific drop.. Hopefully the few people I messaged havn't sold them yet! A FBM Stiletto.. I love the idea of the tank angled up!
Planned work includes;
- milling,:drool2:
- Ano of dust grey for the marker body, frame, feedneck, and Matchstik tips
- Installation of LPRC, Magnetic trigger mod, and Choas/Ace
- lastly, a tuneup..
This will take time, but I have nothing BUT time right now.. I've named this project- "The Rogue."
Thanks to Warped (Andy), Edwin, Psychowarden, and everybody else that contributed to the start of this endeaver. :Beer101:
Edited Portion:
02May07- Purchased a Rocket Valve from Maddman Products!

Cooling.......Like to see how it turns out.
I know closer towards summer Andy may take on a little work here and there.
Might be surprised how quick it comes to pass.

Yeah, last of the exams are in the next few days, and then I'll be cranking out some work again. This is definitely going to be a sweet project though!

I hope you'll enjoy working with her! Please excuse the mess of gear, Hope everything arrived in good order. :)
I was looking at the rocket valve- Would this be a smart upgrade for such a undertaking, anyone? :ChatingD:

Is there any noticeable diffirences on the performance upon installing one? And would it be smart with the parts being thrown on already?

Greetings & welcome......
Yes, now is a good time to pick up a Rocket Valve from Maddman Products (CDarnell) and have it installed in the marker.
As for the reverse angled drop check with Usagi.... I know he picked up at least one and if he doesn't have xtras maybe he can direct you to where you can get one.
Maniac117
05-01-2007, 11:58 PM
Thanks Kaos!
I'll sniff 'em out quick, and send Usagi a PM. It's harder that I thought to find a FBM drop in that style!
usagi_tetsu
05-02-2007, 09:14 AM
Yeah, unfortunately, the reverse angle drops never gained much in popularity, I think mostly because Dynasty or one of the other big names in the "pro" leagues didn't immediately adopt them. The one FBM Power Angle I have made a real difference in the drop I was using (a big, long KAPP DZ2), and I like it a lot. Replied to your PM with a bevy of options, but for the rest of you interested in them, FBM Factory (Stiletto and Power Angle), JAM Enterprises (Endo Cradle), and New Designz (Drop Kick) all make various items that will achieve the reverse angle effect. Remember, use HPA on these only, unless you've got an anti-siphon CO2 with a long straw.
Sounds like an awesome project, troop, glad to hear you survived your deployment okay. Keep us up to date on everything.

Thank you Usagi..
It's not over yet, a few months left. :) but I appreciate the acknowledgement, I hope I did a bit of good here- I'll continue to do my duties.
I'm sending that guy a load of messages, hopefully he wont get sick of me. Since you told me that I can find the setscrews at a hardware store, I'm dead-set on getting his! keeping my fingers crossed.. Oh! and NO Co2 for this guy. :)
latest addition to the upgrades purchased, the Rocket Valve.. :lostit:

Whoo, I hope not :read4: My little bro had this for a MSN avatar, so I stole it from him.. I'll meander around a bit, but if anyone else has it, I'll be finding a new one. :cussing2:
I'm on Pbnation, and Automags.org under the same name.
 A question just hit me during mission the other day..
As Warped has informed me, tribals are low pressure markers- Would I be starving her of air if I used the LP 70/43 Crossfire, the AA Reg, and the LPRC all together? :icon_eek:
warpedmephisto
05-06-2007, 04:02 PM
I think the LP tank will be just fine on this project. :) Crossfires are pretty quick on recharge, and you'll have about a 200-250 psi buffer between the tank reg and HP reg, which is plenty.

:2thumbup: It is! I like being expressive, but it never matches my age or job! :goofball:
I think the list is pretty much it! I'm waiting to see if Andy needs anything, and I wander the net looking for little parts that would be worth throwing into the mix. 2 things HAVE crossed my mind, but they are iffy..;
-Tub adapter for Timmy frames- I want the marker as tight as possible, I think this might be going in the opposite direction..
-Pull Pin- I think it would look sweet to have the top as a gothic spike, a bit mesmerizing! :dancingf:
Dances with Tribals
05-10-2007, 04:42 PM
With the timmy frame you might not need an adapter tub since the timmy frame has a tub built in, unless your talking about an 05 or above.
Maniac117
05-10-2007, 11:39 PM
Really?.. So it won't make it as tall, as you would adding a diffirent frame? As long as it's a pre-05.. Might be worth snooping for! :Typer:
And that would take away the only way one would recognise this as one of the Tribal family! Suggestions?

Well the frame is built like the tribal frames as it has its own tub built into the frame. The only things you will have to check are:
1. Will the noid fit inside the frame?
2. Will the screw holes line up with the frame?
And trust me we will all know that its a tribal, as will any tribal owner/knowledgeable paintballer.

I wonder if anyone would know the answer to that.. My first go-to would be Warped, but if anybody knows if the 'noid fits, the screws line up, and the radiator doesn't radiate:dodgy:, please post!
Dangit! :ahah::buttkick:
On the search for a new Avatar! Thanks for pointing it out DWT!:Partyonp:
Dances with Tribals
05-11-2007, 10:15 PM
Just go to the timmy forum on the nation and ask someone to:
1. measure the distance from the two screws on the timmy frame
2. Measure to see how tall the tub is on the timmy frame and how wide of a space there is to allow the noid.
Then measure the dimensions of your tribal noid and the tribal screw holes and theres your answer!
Dances with Tribals
05-11-2007, 10:20 PM
Talk to outreach he has a timmy. From the looks of it its big enought to fit the noid, but the only thing you will have to worry about is the screw alignment.

Avatar change- Beat this! :Pounder:
I don't have access to any markers right now.. I'm in a area void of even the concept of fun. :ack7: But I'll ask Outreach if it would work! Interest in using that frame is dying slowly though, the more I look at the original frame.. hmm..:hypnodis:

Nice to see you too! I visit now and then, but just to read up on the newer posts- Congrats on getting the purple tribal, she's a beaut! I've been cringing, looking at shifty's shorty orange.. that girl has me fighting to not pay for another marker..:hump2:
I just bought a pump for the fiance, a purple phantom- if she doesn't like it, I can always sell it for about the same dollar that I bought it for. That makes 2 phantoms, and a tribal that I havn't laid my hands on yet! :Pant:

Might not be a tribal whore, but I do like having a few things to take care of- My plan of attack? Play a few games with the lady using the pumps, and if someone bunkers her, they'll have a Mephisto to answer to.. Compliments of Warped. :) :woot5:

True, Mephy's are the best candidate by far:
They're one of if not most common avail.
They're already heavy.
Why not?
Just don't do it to one that has NO milling, as those are in the rare category.
Maniac117
06-22-2007, 02:37 AM
That works! Allright then, I'm no longer doubting the decision..
And for an update on the project, none available right now :Mooner:
EXCEPT ideas..
1. Who can mill the head of a tribal bolt's pin into a gothic spike? Maybe even one of the titanium ones..
2. Would it be beneficial to mount a LPC on the ASA, if the tank reg is already LP?
3. Who Angled the ASA on shifty's blue/black twister?
I'm about as patient as a squirrel.. gotta keep busy, or stay running on the wheel :Party08: No in-between for me.. either work (packing and cleaning up shit) or plan things to do at home.. :woot5:

You can buy a 45* asa. Im sure andy or someone could make a gothic spike for you. And even though the tank is lp. its being converted to hp before it hits the asa anyway so that doesnt matter. you will just be able to run at lower pressures!
Maniac117
06-22-2007, 02:53 AM
Really.. is it a normal cocker asa that would work? trying to remember if it's universal.
If Andy could mill the spike, it would be badass! I figure that he has enough trouble on his hands right now though, so I openly wonder on these things.:brush:
So it wouldn't effect the performance if a LPC was added?

It would make it a little better. Unless you had it set wrong that is. And as for the asa, as long as the asa screw fits in the 45* asa and you can get a seal it will work.

Eh.. *scratches head* I've never played with an angled foregrip before anyway, I best leave it alone for now.
And the LPR I purchased is actually Edwin's LPRC, since I'm thinking for the moment- being a lpr and lpc, would adding the extra lpc do more harm than good? Or would everything stay the same, at least a bit more consistant?

Either that or I'm an easy target and shifty is actually selling me a picture of the marker haha.

Anyways I think the twister is a good example of extreme body milling done right on a tribal. I couldn't say no!
