Ok, so I was tinkering in the basement and patched up/ rebuilt an old ANS pneumatics setup, and installed it in a 2k2 front block that I had kicking around... and noticed the ano colors matched my Tribal. Oooh...

So I'm now wondering (since I love cockers and am by no means a normal person) just how crazy I would have to be to make a Tribal into an Osiris cocker. I mean, it would almost be blasphemous, except the whole reverse compatibility part...

The front block lines up with the LPR/ AOC hole. So in theory, if I found a way to mount the front block onto a LPC, the end of a TILPR, or a modified LPRC, it would just thread in. The ram almost fits right down the side... nothing a really light mill pass wouldn't fix. A halfblock kit for a cocker would probably fit quite well, and only need modified to take one of Edwin's bolts and a different pin. Or even just go Stroker-style bolt on it and keep it even easier. Run a short microline from the outlet of a PPS Stabilizer to the bottom of the block to supply air (plug the far end of the hole to prevent it from leaking out) to the LPR, and add a E-blade solenoid, with a T-board. And I could have an Osiris-style cocker. Ouch.

So, what would you guys say? Am I nuts, or could this be an interesting time? Should I wait until I can get a Promaster to try it on, or would it be a worth fate for a Tribal? Obviously, the modifications to the Tribal itself would be done last...

It just seems a little too serendipitous that the block not only matched colors, but lined up PERFECTLY. Heck, same extrusion I bet... Dang. Another project to put on the drawing board for the summer.

Rich (me262, fearfactory PB) did it to a Fluster a long time ago. He used a short little ram behind the bolt (like a Shoebox Shocker) and a little tiny solenoid behind the upper ram. All was the same in the lower tube I believe. I'm not sure what board he used, but it worked pretty well from what I saw. Basically making a stacked tube Excal.

Go for it!

I think most of us ended up here at the TOG because we pretty much marched to the beat of a different drum. The only thing that might make us think you insane would be to find out that you were marching to something more like a violin rather than a drum..... good luck with the project and take lots of pics.

I did up plans for a closed bolt Defiant. It'll work. There is no reason why you can't do it.

*Edit* BTW, there should be room enough in the tub for on of these solenoids:

Hm, nice to know the ratings on those... but 14psi? That's obscenely low. Isn't that around 1atm? 140psi perhaps?

And I'm definitely not marching to anything... more running, then getting distracted and running somewhere else. I've got ADD or something when it comes to tinkering. :D

A piston with a diameter of 0.690 operating at 72 psi will apply 27lbs of constant force. How much force do you need really? BTW, you can create your own LPR with a fitting, setscrew, spring and a ball bearing. Simple stuff huh?

i was going to do something like this just lacked the funds to even start it
