Just thought I would see what everyone is doing now-a-days.
I have been pretty busy with work, home life, and such. I have been travelling a lot more for work both by air and car. Colin is 6 now, so Soccer, baseball, and other activities take up a lot of my time. Been doing pretty well otherwise....trying to decide if I want to put a pool in or just move into a house with a pool (different neighborhood).
Well......not much else going on.
Check in if you have time.

Lost my nice cushy federal job, because i didn't want to make a living on my knees for my manager.
So now I work at a pool store, and bartend part-time. I will shortly be apping to the Phoenix PD, as soon as I get my running time down.

Lost my cushy job working part-time and hanging out at our lake house in Texas. (due to our relocation/move) The wife said enough was enough so now I'm working full-time doing HVAC in Phoenix, Az. For fun I either go play golf or go hiking on some of the many trails that wind up & down the hills & canyons surrounding the Phoenix valley.

I will most likely break my record of the amount of times to be fired in a year.
They want my head on a stick right now so .....eehh.... that is the way it is.
(the grievance of 81 hours at 45.00 dollars an hour had nothing to do with it).
I won by the way

...Still in Japan. We will be leaving soon. I picked really cool orders...to White Sands, NM. Can't wait to get my butt to a real paintball field. Haven't had much time to fiddle with my Tribals, but I think I am going to make some time tonight to try to figure out what is wrong with my Mephy. Hopefully I will have all my Tribals up and running before I get back to the states.

Still in Tallahassee, FL. I'm about 90% done with my vocational schooling (A & P mechanic (planes)) and will be certified this fall/winter.
Just starting to get back into paintball (I can't believe its been about 2 years...) so I picked up Kaos' NME. Back then, those things were like $500. Can't believe the price drop in just a couple years!
About to pick up a new car (07 Civic Si), so I'm working my tail off....
etc etc etc

Just bought five feet of 6061-T6 Aluminum round stock. I have a new marker prototype that I hope to have the internals milled in the next two weeks.
Pretty cool marker. The prototype internals should fit within a Droid body. We are going that way so we don't have to mill new bodies/grip frames/ASA's and the Droid already works on the same or close to the same pressures as our marker. In fact the Droid is much more roomy than needed for this marker.

I'm living in Indiana and was going to be playing paintball every weekend this year, except I'm sitting in my house with a nice Tib/Fib fracture right now. I was trying to be a nice guy and show my nephew how to play paintball. The moral of the story is DO NOT PLAY PAINTBALL IN SANDALS. I've got some cool pictures of the break and x-rays if anyone wants to see them. I'm still waiting on my Mephisto to get back from Andy, but I picked up a Blue Steel PM8 and probably will shoot nothing but protos from now on. That thing is sick.:barfy:

Still working for the Missouri Army National Guard full time, and we're deep in reorganizing the unit for the third time in 3 years, as well as facing an upcoming IG inspection the week after AT. Yeah, my excitement at work knows NO bounds.
Other than that, my lovely lady is expecting our first child late October/early November, and we're hip-deep in getting the "nest" all prepared for the Worm (our nickname for the kid... long story, don't ask). I just keep thinking "another 10 years and I'll have my own fire team like Kaos does". =P

Ouch! That's a nasty break, Mike. Ugghhh... broken bones gives me the willies, gotta stop looking.
Summer was supposed to be my free time off from school for working on projects (like your's, Mike) but I had to pick up 2 summer classes for scheduling reasons (basically the ME department effed over EVERYONE by rescheduling only their classes). Good news is one class, the one that is taking up all of my time with tons of reading is only 5 weeks long and I took the midterm this morning, so only 2 and a half weeks to go. Then I'll just have Thermodynamics in the evening only 2 days a week. That will give me lots of free time to finally get into the shop and work on things. Currently I'm spending less time in the shop than I was during finals week of the regular semester - this class is nuts for making us engineering students read.
Other than that, thats about all I've got going on. I really want to get back in the shop and finish up customer jobs so I can work on some things for myself. I think after I get done with this last wave of customer stuff I might shift towards just general machine shop work, custom fabricating parts and the like and shift away from airsmithing or tune-up work. It just eats up way too much time.
I'm starting to get really interested in alternative energies and really want to convert a gas car to a totally electric drivetrain. I've looked into the materials and it really wouldn't cost too much to do it, but I don't have the time or money right now to do something like that. Its something I'd like to do in the future though when I do have the kind of cash to spend. Who knows...
Thats all I've got!

Don't worry Andy, I've been looking at things like Perendev motors or permanent mag motors as alternatives to gasoline.

I'm still living in Oklahoma City, for now. We're moving back to Iowa in August. The diesel shop that I came down here to help open fell through, so I'm working 80+ hours a week at another shop and i don't know if I can make it to August. Right now my wife and kids are up in Iowa getting a house ready and I won't see them for a month. I'm thinking of selling a bunch of my paintball stuff to help pay for the move (and less stuff to pack.)

Well I've been busier than ever the past year. Started new orders in January to work full time for the Cav Guard unit I'm apart of out of Waco, Texas. Last Year I traveled across the country as a high-paid network technician for a Chicago based company called Crosscom and bought myself a brand new 2007 Subaru WRX for my travel car. Put 18k+ miles on it in 6 months and traded it in to get a 2006 Subaru WRX STi. Got married in April (big wedding to come after deployment), promoted to Sergeant in May, and finishing up my first Annual Training in Fort Polk as we speak for an upcoming deployment this fall to Iraq.
That pretty much sums it up, I need a vacation!
Edit: Here's a recent pic of me and the wifey...

You moved to St Chuck, DwT? My sister and brother-in-law live out that way (St Louis proper), I'll have to remember to drop you a line next time I'm out that way and we'll go fling some paint somewhere out there. Of course, they're coming over on the 27th for the wife's baby shower and me and the bro-in-law are going to Jaegers (http://www.jaegers.com/) in KC to fling some paint and escape the insanity.

Sounds good. Yea I grew up in Winfield which is just 20 miles or so to the north. The pickins are good for paint flinging around that area. theres 8 fields i can think of off hand within 20 miles.

I'm still around and haven't played in 2 years!
DwT I used to go up to St. Charles all the time, my aunt lives up there. Really nice area up that way.
Been bored, got my license months ago, and been running the tires off my car except for when I can't afford gas (lol) thankfully the election brought it back down to $1.95 (gotta hurry and fill up before it goes back up)
I have my Yamaha banshee finished and it scares the crap out of me but is a lot of fun.. nothing else is really going on... Bipolar isn't fun that's for sure... currently going to docs for that since I'm sick of slipping father and not finding strength to help myself so realized it was time to do somethng... not yet specifically diagnosed, but it's pretty obvious.

Ed - you're right, it was the dip in the economy that's lowered gas prices. Our mini-Depression affected pretty much the entire world (for those of you not in the US, you can thank us later for being utter morons...) and lah-dee-dah-dee everybody had to cut back on fuel imports, lowering demand and prices in one fell swoop.
My latest update - I'm a dad! My lovely wife Denise gave birth to our first, Samantha Michelle, on the 3rd of November in the early afternoon. She came out a skinny but long girl, with a full head of hair at 7lbs, 21" long. Mom and baby (and dad) are doing fine, we're just all tired as hell. Kaos has seen the pics, he can vouch she's a cute kid.

Nope, keep heading north to Napili Bay. There are several resorts right on the beach directly across from the golf course entrance at Kapalua (host of LPGA Mercedes Classic). We spent a bit more than we should have on a room but it was our 25th anniversary. When we got back I did some searching online and found some better deals dealing directly with owners themselves. We booked a place for a week next Sept already at only $100 per nite. Plus it includes... a small kitchen, boogie board & snorkel gear. Just gotta pick up the rum and coke at the store and we're good to go!
And Yeah..... that snow and ice thing blows! Did that for 13 years in KC, now we're in sunny AZ. Today we're supposed to be in the low 80's. :)
