I was looking at the stock feedneck on my fluster earlier and started to think; would it be possible to cut off the top section of the stock feedneck and use the bottom section to clamp an ego feedneck onto??
Has anyone looked into/tried/contemplated this before?
If not what does everyone think? Is it doable??

I can take a look at my measurements for the stock feedneck. If you know the OD of a EGO feedneck I can probably help you out some. :2thumbup:

I dont have an ego feedneck yet (nor do I have a decent caliper to get you the OD). I ordered one last night with a few other thing I needed. I figured Id give it a shot. If it worked, great. If it didnt, then at least I tried :Partyonp:

Whoops. I meant ID of the feedneck.
Calipers are dirt cheap these days and you can get a good digital set fro about $20. They are handy for all things paintball, and other stuff but who is counting the other stuff? :2thumbup:

Yeah I have an old caliper but not a decent digital caliper. This should give me a good reason to go buy one now :buttrock:
Hopefully this works out.

I can see I am going to have to put my marker body in a vice...

Yeah it wasn't fun getting the neck off. I'm still amazed I didn't break anything (including myself) while trying to get it off.
But in other news, you weren't kidding about calipers being cheap now a days. I found a nice digital caliper at lowes for $30. Beats the plastic dial caliper that Ace wanted $34 for.

Yes, they read to the 0.0005" typically but I would say they are only repeatably accurate to 0.001".

Well the ego feedneck mod is a no go. My measurements have the OD of the bottom section of the stock feedneck as 0.874 and the ID of the shocktech feedneck being 0.932.
So I went a bit of a different route! Did a little ghetto mod'ing to the stock feedneck to work with the shocktech clamp.

And just for good measure, a pic of my fluster now :2thumbup: (still waiting for the rocket valve and chaos board to coem in)

If by that you mean go at it with file for an or two (it took a while, not exactly sure how long) then yes, LOL
I dont have a lathe to actually turn it down hench the word "Ghetto" :sulkoff:
I literally used hand files to trim down the walls of the feed neck stopping often to measure the thickness of the walls and the total OD. The slots where then cut into the neck with a hacksaw, a drill press, and small files. Shes not the prettiest thing in the world but it works.
I do wish I had a Lathe and a mill though......but I have a feeling if I did have them my lack of experience with would cause some major "mishaps" with some of my guns. Thats why when I need something done right I just go over to KPCS and have Ken do the work :Partyonp:

Looks good.... I'm a hand tool guy myself.
As for the bolt pin it is stock. As you know by now Tribals are notorious for having different things on the same models in the same year (and what not). ie;
~ Mephy had 3 different style barrels
~ Bolts... 1 metal type, 1 metal/delrin, 2 all delrin
~ Electronics, I forget how many off hand.... 6 or 7?
~ Gripframes... some with finger grooves, most without.
Then there is stuff like the milling: The "no mill" Mephy, and an xtra "deep mill" BBT.
Just normal for our beloved Tribal tho.
