on the ram springs ive found one problem..........ive got them on all my guns except one...the addicted

the ram is tapered at the end where the base of the spring sits ........when you tighten the hammer back on the spring slides onto the body of the ram....just enough to where it wont let me put the ram back in the chamber.

am i the only one or has antbody else had a problem like this

They fit fine in a couple that I tested them in. I have about 10 ram shafts here at work this morning so I can polish them.

I noticed that the spring is a tad bit bigger than the noid housing, but on mine it the last coil tends to flip up, not down on the ram housing. Worst case you could clip off 1/4 of the last winding.

TIP AND TRICK---THIS IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED TODAY:

As much as this is going to hurt me to say, I believe I know what the problem is. There are many models of Tribal Ram Bodies, and there are two major differences that will effect the new Ram Spring. One type body will be easy to re-install and the other will need a little trick to get in place!!!

(Sorry I don't have my camera here, but I will try to get more photos later.)

http://www.tribal-paintball.com/edwin247/tribal_spring_assist_005.jpg

The picture above shows how the spring should seat against the face of the ram body. The larger diameter of the spring sits on the aluminum body, which works and will fit inside the marker fine. But on some ram bodies they were machined differently. The place where the spring sits on the body was turned down to a smaller OD until it gets to the first oring. Because these type ram bodies are smaller in OD for that first 1/8" it allows the spring to slide down almost all the way to the first oring groove. This difference will not allow the ram assembly to fit back inside the marker body without some help!!!

Here is the FIX!!!
Take a piece of string (twine) and fish is through the bolt pin slot into the bottom ram bore. From there fish it all the way out of the rear of the marker (where the ram will be re-inserted. Now take a piece of Dental Floss (sp) (about 2 feet) and loop it around a few (2-3) turns of the large diameter of the spring. You are not tieing the dental floss, your just looping it. You should not have a loop going around the spring and two equal lenghts (1 foot each). The dental floss will compress the spring when you pull it!!! Tie the flose to the twine, and pull the floss back through the pull pin slot. Now as you insert the ram back into the marker, pull the floss to compress the spring to get the assembly started into the body of the marker. Once the spring and ram is in the body you will be fine. Tighten the ram in place, cut the floss and pull it out.

The reason why I used floss is because it is strong and thin. Thin enough to squeeze between the hammer and the body bore as your inserting the ram assembly.

The reason why I use twine first is because it would be 10x harder to fish the floss through the bore and out the pull pin slot.

TRY THIS OUT SHIFT AND REPORT BACK!!! :)

Good!!!

It just so happened that you (shifty) sent me that Unmilled Mephy that is here at work with me, and it had the exact type ram that was giving you the problem, so I was able to figure out what the hell was going on.

Edwin - when you say that the spring is compatible with the ASE ram bumper, what does that mean? Does the spring just sit on the bumper? Wouldn't that increase the force that the spring imparts on the hammer? I'm guessing you have to clip off a bit of the spring...?

No Clipping needed.

The spring sits on the shaft in between the Hammer and the Ram Body. It increases the force that the hammer hits the valve, therefore possibly reducing the LP to compensate. But the ultimate goal is to reduce FSDO due to the Ram.

Couple Tribemembers made me aware of a problem with my paypal cart. It seems that I messed up making the cart choices and had some listed under my gulfxray email and most under my tribal-paintball email. So I had to fix three items under gulfxray, and also fix a error with the ACE board item.

All is well now. Everything should come up on one paypal order!!!

Thanks for the heads up, guys!!!

I am thinking about discontinuing the CCM Feednecks as a standard part---of course when I run out of stock. Why? Because I don't sell many, too many color options, investment in dead stock etc.

What I was thinking was---let the Tribe members buy them, then just send it to me for modifications. My price was initially $45 but they never sold, then I reduced it to $35 (list price for CCM Feednecks) to move some....so at $35.00 I mike hardly any money. I don't have much time for producing parts that sit.

Just a thought.......

Another reason why I am think this is I am close to (or out of) red rings, therefore I need to purchase more to even supply people............therefore another investment in slow moving stuff.

Update:

1. No Black No-Rise Feednecks in stock.
2. I don't think I will be ordering anymore of CCM feedneck as I don't sell many at all. I guess if people want I can Turn some threads on their feednecks if wanted.
3. I have been drilling ASA screws to order, so please expect delays if you order one of those.
4. Please email me or send an IM after placing an order as I don't get Paypal notifications (Too many Phishing Emails).
5. I think I have one T-Shirt left. No more shirts will be ordered as I never sold many and I can't make a profit with these low quantities.

Let me know if I can do anything.

Unfortunately, I think I've gotten everything I need for my projects, though I must admit that I have yet to do a full sweep and check everything off the list. I'll give it a good run-down and see what, if anything, I'm lacking. We do appreciate and enjoy your products, bud, just wish we were all rich enough to keep you in a steady stream of business.

I was just trying to inform people of the status.

I got an order for a feedneck, but I am out of the color, and I have no idea who it is for. I fixed the website so it won't happen again.

Edwin...that was my order. I got your refund. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner...I was underway when I placed the order, and I cannot log onto yahoo while out to sea. I am back inport now. I just placed another order for a no-rise, and 2 ram springs. Paypal has been sent. It sucks that you aren't able to make money. I have been wanting to buy a few feednecks from you, but everytime I get around to it, my money has to go somewhere else. I have 5 tribals, and I would like to have a CCM feedneck for all of them, I just can't afford to buy them all at once. I will keep sending business your way whenever I can afford it...

No problem. I will get the order out.

No problem on "Making money"......I do make money off of them, but it take a long time to break even....take the TILPRs: I had to order 100 of them just to keep cost down, but I probably only sold 15 of them so far, therefore I haven't paid my investment off yet. That is a risk that I chose to make.....

The parts are still available...so it isn't like I am out of business. My investment has already been made, now it is just a waiting game to get some money back.

I just don't think I should buy more parts, like feednecks and such, as you have to buy several at a time, and wait for the money to come back in.

Oops...I sent another email to your other address before I realized you got my order. Yea, I have been wanting to buy a couple of your TILPR for a while. I just can't stop myself from dumping so much money in building new 'Mags and upgrading the ones I already have. I seems that I am rarely able to save enough money for more expensive Tribal parts. But I anticipate being able to buy a TILPR before the end of April.

Hey Edwin, I know in the e-mail you said you didnt have the feedneck I was asking about. I was just wondering if you have ANY feednecks left?? No rise, no pro, any color clamp...doesnt matter as any will work if you do have on, just want to know which to order if you do have any.
