I am buying a Tribal mephisto and I was wondering what boards can be put in that have eyes?
Would a WAS board be able to go in?
I am looking for something with an unlimited BPS.

warpedmephisto sells chaos boards, and imo, they are the best ones out right now that can easily fit in a tribal.

I asked warped once and he said he could put timmy WAS in, but he'd have to mill the inside of the grip frame a little... I'm gonna put a predator in mine eventually

I'd just go with Chaos simply because they fit in the grip frame with no troubles and they are reliable and downright fast. A WAS board would fit, but it would require a bit of modification. I'd have to mill out the inside of the gripframe a little bit more, along with some other tricks...

you would still be limited to 24-26bps ...... mechanically i dont think it can go faster than that.

Why not a Warlord? That was designed for the tribal. That would be the best board IMO.
I have a chaos too, but that is going into the bushy. Its amazing how small that 2k4 Chaos is!!

Warlord is also an excellent board choice and should be looked into.

warlord is pretty expensive though, $200... you could get chaos
edwins ACE board is always an option too, it'll just still be capped at 13 bps, and it doesn't have any special modes or anything

I would think if you were going for just a higher rate of fire then a very cost effective option would be to couple edwins ACE board with the Fury chip from ASP. You get some nice modes with the fury and I think the bounce is pretty minimal, I could be wrong. I've never used it.

i have 3 chaos installs, 1 edwins ace install with fury , 1 bbe warlord , 1 original warlord , 1 morlock
chaos and the warlord i cant tell a difference they shoot about the same ..... fury is a little slower but fast enough.
warlord has minimal modding to get to fit and you can hook up easier.
the morlock is just a bitch and should have andy mess with that.

i believe warped nailed that on the head........ the only problem is i let a person borrow it and they reset the board.
they turned it on and held the trigger down for 6-7 seconds and it went to the factory reset,.....im having hell trying to reprogram it :Mad2:

*ick* That's not good. Do they have a way to shut off the trigger programming, so you can "tourney" lock and refrain from doing stupid stuff like that?

Yep, the 2 little dip switches on the board control that. I just forgot to turn them on tourney lock when I sent them back, and forgot to mention that part to Shifty.

Chaos == small and good, I used a WAS board just because I had one. It's friggen huge, if I was going to buy a new one I'd probably use a Chaos. Either one will be darn fast.

Can the Chaos be set using the computer and then just left alone the way the Entrophy (Chaos for Timmy) can?
I assume it can just want to make sure.

do you like that program? I have been looking to get it for some time but not sure if it is worth it. whats the chance of getting a copy of the disk and the order of the wires on the cable?

I love the program. Not only can you change the setting but you can also control which settings will be available to change at the field. I turned off most of the settings because I only ever change a few things so the menu is really short with most of the stuff turned off.
The chances of getting a copy of the disk are very good :D
I can try to give you what you need from the cable but you'll have to let me know exactly what to look for.

well warped hooked me up with the program
as far as the cable I just need to know which wires go to what conectors on either side I would say label the board conector 1 - 6 like this:

56
and the parallel conector like this:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13
14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25
it is probably numbered all ready. then just match up wich wires go where i.e.
board 1 goes to parrallel 5 etc...
does that help? if you cant tell where each one goes or you dont have a multi meter dont worry about it. Warped said he is going to look for his diagram
