Last Sunday I went out to play some but when i screwed my tank on there was a hissing leak from the place where the inline reg screws in the vertical asa. So I whip out my handy strap wrench, give it a twist, and the leak stops. Now I need to get that reg off and it refuses to cooperate. In previous incidents I had always been able to get the reg off with my strap, but this time it stayed on. I used hot water on the asa to try to loosen it up. I tried Edwin's trick, but I felt like I was using too much pressure and I didn't want to damage the threads.
I then put my tribal in a vice (with padding of course) and got that strap wrench out. I was trying really hard to get it off, maybe even a little too hard. I broke my strap wrench!!! BROKEN!!!! Now I'm mad. Before I go drilling a hole horizontally through my hpr someone tell me what to do.
Thanks for reading.

Glad to see you got it fixed!!!

I was going to say, use my trick again, as damaged thread is better than drilling a hole!!!

You can alway retap the damaged thread, as you don't use the last few threads anyway.

What type strap wrench do you use?????
