Ok got in the bushy harness and chaos board, I have the eye holes drilled and am almost completely done with the modification, only issue I have now is that because of the fluster's milling the eyes go into the body a bit farther than they should thus intefering with the bolt, I can temp fix with electrical tape but does anyone have any ideas for a better fix? one of my thoughts is to use a very thin washer or oring to hold onto the eye lip (at the back of the eye) and keep it from going in further anyone else? edwin, kaos, or warped?
this is how it looks (just need to figure out the eyes and then some covers then ano. Also wether I want to drill a hole for the light, run it to the back board, or just let it hang in the grip, it can be seen through the grip)

What I've done in those cases is use a very short piece of heatshrink to shim out the eyes. I imagine that a small washer or o-ring would do the same - and probably be more rigid in the end. Lookin' good!

thank you, didnt think of the heat shrink idea Ill try to find a washer that small but Ill use the heatshrink for now.

Shifty has some place that made some custom warlord eye covers for him, I forgot what company it was thou. Then Vapy had some custom eye covers made for his mephy, maybe talk to him too.

Is that a cdarnell tub?
If so, do you know if that is the standard depth? I think I'll be getting one very soon, and I'm hoping it's not going to be very tall...

Depending on what frame you'll be using, you can shorten them a little bit, or mill out the frame you'll be using to make it all a little bit shorter.
jeremy.sears
05-26-2005, 09:47 AM
yes both the chrome and the fluster have Craig's tubs on them 9both were done perfect, I had the fluster shortened to just be able to clear the solenoid since the chaos board fits in the grip with the battery, so it is a bit shorter than the standard one wich is good because of the height of the OTB frame.
Got an email from Tarantula MFG we are working out the details then it will be off to plating and anoing :D

chrome will sorta suck...... gets expensive
nickel plate with high gloss .....thats the ticket right there
jeremy.sears
05-27-2005, 05:25 PM
nickel plate would be fine but who does it? asked white wolf and he isnt doing that kind of work on either gun

well Im not so much worried about the colors as the way it is colored, though if I can I would like to keep in tradition of the old ano job actually I was thinking of having it done like the one castro has where it was properly anoed over the whole body instead of just getting the red (or in this case gold) on main areas.

I know Palmer's Pursuit Shop (http://www.palmer-pursuit.com/) has done some awesome chrome jobs for their Classic 'Phoons (tiger-striped matte and polished chrome is the fave, and probably the best chrome job, in my opinion - check 'em out here (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=979884) and here (http://www.paintmagazine.com/wpaint7/toker.shtml)), but I don't know if they offer it as a service to the public at large. Other than them, I'd say try Punisher's Customs (http://www.punishers-customs.com/), or the two shops Doc at Doc's Machine (http://www.docsmachine.com/) goes thru - PK Selective (http://www.pkselective.com/) and Ano-Tech (http://www.atmf.com/).

Once again, sexy! However, what's up with the splotch of yellow just behind the ported area on the barrel?

I like how he's running dual regs. Centerflag Doolie reg I'm guessing.
jeremy.sears
12-20-2005, 05:40 AM
yep its a doolie, I keep it at 400. for some reason that is the only spot on the whole gun where they decided to fade (the end of the barrel) but it doesnt look bad in person. And the gun as a whole looks real good so it is hard to notice

How comfortable is the OTB frame?
Does it make the gun feel realy tall when playing/shooting?
jeremy.sears
12-20-2005, 02:03 PM
I like it, and a couple guys on my team liked it, couple others didnt like it. Its one of those things you have to try for yourself
warpedmephisto
12-20-2005, 11:32 PM
I personally found the OTB frames to be a bit too tall and the trigger too close to the frame, but its really all about personal taste. If you like it, more power to ya!

Well, when I got mine done. Ken didn't realize the eye parts were as long as he had thought. He tried to counterbore to fit the lip of the LED's in. Well he threw some small o-rings on to make up the space. They probably work better this way than they would have before.
