First off my thanks to Edwin for getting my account working.
Here is my question. I have a twister that seems to work fine but the rear red LED is the only one that lights. I've tried a couple 9 volts and I'm guessing the insulator is there (its the while plastic thing between the main board and the body?). Any ideas other than a short somewhere?

Do you have a Fury chip installed???? If so, I think it only lights one of the LEDs in the back, but I am not 100% sure.

Stock Tribal Chips are not known for accurate battery status. The only stock board that works fairly good is the V1F and they are only a handfull of those board sets.

Yeah, if you have a Fury chip, they only light up the amber LED on the backplate and no others (without modification to the board). If its a stock chip, it will most likely light up the red LED and if it doesn't light up the LED on the side ofthe frame, then somethings wrong there. Check to make sure you have the plastic insulator inbetween the controller board and body.

Pretty sure it is the stock board, no Fury chip. The side LED lights up and the red LED on the back, insulator is there also but the yellow and green LEDs are always dark. I'm new to tribals so I'm trying to figure things out as I go before I start messing around with the insides.
