View Full Version : Solenoid Failure?

I've been a member of the tribe for a few months now. I own a Tribal Mephisto.
So... a week ago at the end of the day of playing the mephisto started leaking from the grip frame. quite a large amount of air actually. It happened before but i just took apart the solenoid, lubed up the orings and seals and that fixed it. This time I tried the same solution and it didn't help at all.
I'm totally lost as to what the problem can be. It's just a stock Mephisto. I'm thinking there is a possibility that too much air is going into the gun.
I really need to get this gun back into working order. I absolutely loved it when it worked and now I'm a sad man.
Please and thank you.

www.airsoldier.com carries a large selection of selenoids, aound $50.
Have you chronoed your gun, to make sure that your HPR is set too low, or too high?

It could just be the AOC turned up too much. Have a look at this technote and see if any of that solves your problem. http://air-soldier.com/technotes/technote4/index.shtml

It may be that the AOC is set too high... I did notice a raise in pressure on the guage on my On/Off but I don't really remember what it was at. I just noticed something changed.
I have no clue how to sweetspot my AOC and neither have I a large budget. Does it just consist of screwing something in or out? I can just do that if that is how it's done then seeing if the problem keeps reoccuring.
EDIT: In addition... Is there some sort of backdoor way to setting the AOC. Like at a chrono or something. Also, Is there any site that I can look into all the parts of the tribal and understand them more? I need to understand some of the parts on this gun. It seems to be more complicated than my cocker. I have many more questions but I'll save them for when my tribal gets back in working order.

i would say go to blues site and pick up a gauge that you replace the ram with.
that way you can check the aoc pressure.........but seeing how there are no tribal accesories on it i wont put the site.

He's just transferring it all over to a new site and its taking some time. If you go to the link I posted, you can still access his Tribal Accessories page, among others.

I think it might be the solenoid... I just gassed it up and it wasn't leaking. Then I fired and the frame was leaking. Could it still be the AOC too high or just a bad seal in the solenoid?

Could be either. Without gauges or without adjusting anything, its just hard to tell which it could be.

whoops misread your question... Try a longer allen wrench. Make it as big as it can be and still fit inside the AOC.

And if your really bored, or desprite, you could just take out the ram & valve set screw, take a squeegy and push the valve and aoc body out(basically clean out the bottom tube.
Takes longer, but it works.
Just use a longer allen, it will work sooner or later!!
