The Tribe @ OK/DD.... We came, we played, we kicked ass!

Well, our good-bye to OK/DD was a success. German tankers & infanrty both felt the wrath of our Bazooka & Support shooters. Not to mention that the speedball players and staff now know what a Tribal and Tribal owners are capable of.

*New event: I've already found one in the Dallas area, it's called Paintoberfest. It's supposed to be the first joint venture put on by Wayne Dollock & Viper early in October.

for being "the biggest scenario paintball game in the world"..... it was ran like a second rate field. how would they be able to underman somebody by that much and not know it? could be dewayne was listening to the radio more than taking care of business.

This whole thing of who won and lost is as per any kind of paintball game there will be winners and losers but the thing is to me it's about fun and meeting new people or as for you guys meeting you guys and getting to play warped w/o even knowing it at least we won that game ...lol joking warped I got a lucky shot on your friends feedneck anyway, I never did make it ove to you guys again to look at your tribals the main thing that was a big problem at d-day was the refs 60 refs for 4000 player it just don't fit. But it was a blast!

Well as usual I had a blast!!!

Most of my fun comes from hangin' with everyone I have come to know over this forum (and others :D), and I sure hope that we can find another place to meet every year. It doesn't take a greatly ran event for me to have fun, it just gives me something to talk and bitch about. Just more conversation!!!

Unlike Shifty's quick Trip home, it took 15 hours to make it home. I did drive it straight through left around 10:00am and made it home at 1:00am.

Shifty: I wish I would have known the TWINS were on the speedball field --- I never even caught that yall took them out. Hopefully Nimrod got pictures of that!!! Tribals at the World Largest Paintball Game (one for Dewayne :) ).

I think the ref issue as stated above is bullshit!!! From an offical two timer at D-Day, the Refs on the field were more numerous than last year and after every tank shot they were there to assist!!! Sure there is more "wipes" that happen in this type of event versus speedball, but 1500 versus 1500 in the woods is a bit different.

D-Day Improvements:
1. Better Field Refs
2. More Air on field
3. More Water on field
4. Less rain than last year :)

D-Day Failures:
1. No (and I mean no fucking hard fast) rules.
2. Without #1 above -- The oreintation refs had no idea of what to say.
3. If things change, please change the orientation video!!!
4. Stop worrring as much about MONEY and start making the game flow.
5. GIVE EVERYONE THE RULES EARLY SO WE CAN PLAN. DON'T TELL US THE NIGHT BEFORE THAT WE ONLY GET 100 BALLS per A/T Guns!!!!

But Kaos is going to write a book on the above issues, so I will leave my small list as is.

D-Day Game Failure
They are always worried about "Game Flow" --- Stuff like don't shut the tanks down as it disrupts the flow of the game. Well the shit the Germans pulled in St. Lo really fucked up the flow of the game. I don't like invading a deserted town that we are suppose to take!!! 1 hour of waisted time and LACK OF GAME FLOW!!!

As for the Kaos not stealling THUNDER, I am happy to say that the Tribe KICKED FUCKING ASS again!!!!!!! Kaos assembled the 82nd WepCo from our Tribe, and Craigs guys also joined with Kaos in this venture. Well from that small group of people, we sucessfully "broke it off in their ass"!!! We shut their tanks down two years and a row!!! We even unexpectantly killed their tanks from the front targets a mere 3"x3" target, were most people thought would would attack from the rear since the targets are 7"x7"

Also a small piece of info for the TOG. A little shitty marker like a Tribal Mephisto took the honor of top tank killer!!! 15 Tanks taken!!! Two tanks were "double tapped" Eitherway with a mere 3 pzookas from the Wepco on the field we still fucked them. Just think we (the wepco) check 6 pzooka and fielded 3. The Allies had a total of 12-15 pzookas registered, and we registered 6 of those and only used 3. Still we had the germans so fucking pissed that they were bitching their asses off!!! "I can't even make one circle without getting shot out" We definately fucked them!!!

I think this year was a bit better for me as I was camped next to my friends, were were detached from the event. We just hung out, and when it was time we shut the tanks down!!!

Two years of getting the Job done!!!!!

Edwin mentioned that a Mephy converted Bazooka was the equipment used to take out 15 tanks. appaintball has a big event up here every year...they combine all 8 fields into one big field..dead man walking rules. and medic rules...once your shot your out till a medic comes and heals you or you go to a medic tent..3 wounds equal one kill (arm, hopper or legs are wounds) 3 kills and you become a dead man walking and have to report to the deadpool where refs create large squadrons of assasins and mercenaries...of course once your a mercenary if you get shot you become a member of the team that shot you..

it is nowhere as cool as the one your talking about but they do have 2 story bases with good stucture and good refs and a descent field that is constantly improoving...should check them out sometime it makes for a good long weekend of capture the flag and your never truely out if you play it right hahahahaha....
i always liked mercenary work better anyways lol. there are no sides as a mercenary..your only objective is to haze every person who walks your path and wreak total havoc....now that is fun.

would love to find a good full on sim game though...have't seen one of those around here for years.

Haha, Yes it was me that took out 15 tanks, but I was trying to give credit to all of us. I would like to say that I did it all alone, but that is not true. We worked it teams, and it was instrumental in getting most of those kills.

After we saw that St.Lo was a little slow, Rusty, Derric, Shifty, and I went looking for a fight, and sure enough we found some German Tanks circling FBA and FBB, so we took them out. If it wasn't for my Gunners, I probably wouldn't have gotten so many tanks. So it was a group effort, and I can't take all the credit.

It is just too bad that I can't share the Scepter Motar Launcher with everyone. :D

Sundays game sucked it was a lil boring so we jus went back to camp and got stuff packed up. I was told that next year when and if I come to d-day to watch out the refs I shot in the night game are coming after me ...I told him I feel so special ...lol and he said he had numerous americans that will be on the hunt for me ..special again there mad b/c I seen some refs argueing with some allied that had tagged some germans next to me and the gung ho german guys couldn't believe they were behind us so I started at one ref and opened up till the end person taking out germans and all that stood there in the arguement about 10 people and let me tell ya the refs called me every name they could think of anf tried to croney me but none of them had a croney ...I said it hurts b/c I was 10 feet away sck it up so yeah I guess I pissed some refs off..lol

Ok since Rusty isn't a Tribemember yet, I need to share this D-Day story with you guys. The Tribal D-Day players already heard it but it is worth telling again.

After busting up tanks and winning the Airfield points, Rusty, Derric, and I left the airfield and headed bact to Firebase Alpha to bust up on more tanks. While passing through the lane to get to Alpha, I noticed a German Tank approaching so I ran up an hid behind a concrete tube. Not much firing was going on in that area so I didn't pay any attention to players. Well after I shot a few rounds and was almost about to hit the tank target, I hear in the background, "Yeah take him out" and plop, plop, plop someone shoots me in the back. I call "hit" and stand up and start walking for the dead box. I looked over towards the guys who shot me, and noticed that there were about 30 germans casually sitting on some concrete bunkers. I call to Rusty and Derric, and say "there they are take them out" but they didn't shoot and stayed crouched down. I was a bit confused... Well I kept walking to the dead box, and another guy in passing says "Hey man that was a real cheap shot" so I start thinking, and my blood starts to boil. I turn around to go see what the fuck was up. Rusty and Derric then joins me to walk over.

All those damn germans that were sitting there had barrel plugs in as if they were dead and just bystanders. I ask the group, "Who shot me" and there was not answer, I ask again "who shot me" and again no answer. By then I notice there is only one guy without a barrel plug, and I ask him "did you shoot me" and no answer from him. I ask again "did you shoot me" and he says "Yeah I shot you." I then ask him "so your in, right" and no answer. I said it again "so your in" and he said "YES", so I told Rusty "Lite him up", and Rusty casually says "Um, OK" and draws on the little fucker.

As Rusty drew the little fucker also attempted to draw, and "pop, pop, pop" Rusty gets first shots, and the fucker tries to duck by putting his head between his legs as he falls to the ground... ..."pop, pop, pop, pop" and he was definately out. He never even got a chance to fire on Rusty!!!

As we walked away those germans were all bitching, saying that was not fair and very unsportsman like. Rusty sure busted that guys ass!!! I was like "Holy Fuck, you sure busted his ass!!!"

So we all three start walking for the dead box because techincally I am dead. We get about 75 feet away and a hail of paint tries to kit us, and wouldn't you know about 3-4 of them little fuckers are shooting at us!!! All three of us turn around and start returning fire..... Again we lite their asses up, and they start running back to momma... Well we make it near the dead zone and chill under a big oak tree, and start talking about the incident. We notice some commotion with some players and some of the refs, and Rusty (I think) notices that those players are the fuckers that all this shit just happened with. Well the players and the refs come over and ask us if it was us, and we start bitchin' our side of the story, and the refs say "woe, woe, woe" The refs seperated us and listen to them first, and then gave us a chance to talk.

We told them the cheap shot that he took at me while he was under the cover of "Human Sheilds," and that we took him out with live players. The ref asked if Rusty shot him in the face and neck, which was a bullshit lie. Rusty shot for the mid-body, and the guy crouched down, so he may have been it anywhere, mostly in the back I would say. Well the refs sorted things out and told us just to keep clear and not to aggrivate the situtation any further (Seemed like a very wise ref). Come to find out (as I didn't notice but Rusty did) the main ref was a ref that I just loaned my pocket chrony to about 45 minutes earlier. Maybe that played a little favoritizm or just let him know that we were mature players, and not unsportsmanlike player. You know if someone is concerned enough about hot players to give to a total stranger a $75 chrony with the hopes of getting it back, we must be pretty good guys.


It was a great memory from D-Day, and it was worth sharing!!!

It's just funny.

I get shot, We take revenge, they whinn and try another cheap shot, we fuck them up again, then they try to tattle on us to the refs, and we win again!!!!

Yep, it is pretty neat. You stuff it with 5 or 6 paint grenades and shoot them out like a shot gun of grenades.....

I saw it in action at the airfield. It seemed like it worked pretty good but one of the shot I saw the grenades only when about 20-30 feet in friendly area, so it could have taken out our guys!!!

nothing personal...just us big guys are at a bit of disadvantage...i have had my but handed to my before figuratively speaking lol...left it hanging out a few times and was made well aware of it lol....not to mention the speed disadvantage lol....i am only 27 years old and can barely walk at the end of 8 hours of speedball with a bunch of 14 to 16 year old kids ripping up the field lol...

have been slowly getting out of shape over the years since i messed up my knees in the army lol...can not run like i use to but i can still sprint ok when i need to but dang i pay for it later.

just glad to see i am not the only big guy out there that is still giving it a go(probably pushing 250 here) and its not often i come across somone more then like a buck 50 on most the fields i play on

I was a head ref at d-day, And am very glad to hear that people for the most part had a good experence with the reffing at the event. we were a little short staffed, so that made for some very long days.

Yep, I think the refs did a much better job this year. I am not sure if it was because they had more or if they were just better, but I am very happy with their job. Let Dewayne know that you guys are getting positive feedback.

I only had three problems with refs, and in all cases they botched my shots on tanks!!!!

I had a perfect hiding place and a great shot at the small front target of a tank in the airfield, but there were at least 4 refs directly in my firing line. I should have taken the shot, but I didn't want to pepper them!!!

The other times I had tanks in my sights ready to light them up and the refs stopped the tanks and chrono or spoke with them about other things.

Damn, Damn, Damn, 18 hit would have been better than 15 :D

Not only a little big but also a little old..... i'll be 49 later this year. At 5'11" 218 I don't look like much of a sprinter, but when needbe I can actually get where I need to in less time than ppl think. It's kind of a nice advantage to have ppl think that I'm old & sloooo.....

i can only hope i am still running when i am 49..the knees are telling me otherwise but i will give them hell till the give out on me. basically i call it a day at that point so i am sure that in a few years i will have to do something about those but untill then i just keep on truckin lol.

know what you mean about the element of surprise though i am well over 225 and that was last year..i put on 2 pants sizes since then lmao so none the less people do tend to underestimate us big guys..now if ya expect me to run any distance the hell with that i'll bunker and wait to light them up lol

only hope i have it in me when i hit 49..took a hunting trip in maine back in early march for red stag and was in snow up to my waist and i was sad to find my stepdad who is 69 this year and had double knee replacement 8 months ago was doing better then i was...granted he was not the one tracking his wounded deer for 3 hours in that deep ass shit but none the less i still felt like a heeal being out paced by a 70 year old man lol ...
told him next time he could track his own damn deer but he owed me one from a gutshot deer i gave him back when i was 14 then had to leave and go back to school so he tracked it and found it at first light the next morning and had the pleasure of cleaning it since it was still warm payback is hell lol.

OK Jessie you caught me, I actually don't turn 49 till November..... so technicly I'm 48.58 years old. :) And I can't really put my finger on any one reason why I can still run & gun all day.... I certainly have had my share of accidents and mishaps. I was however extremely active in every sport I could be, like....
Baseball, football, surfing, skiing, biking, motorcycle racing, tennis, golf, running, swimming, hunting, fishing, etc. Alot of my outdoor time was spent in the California mountains (Trinity Alps, Mt.Shasta, Lassen & the Tahoe/Serrias) so my legs always got a pretty good workout. For that matter my time spent at the beaches helped as well. Playing frizbie and vollyball in the sand get to be a workout after a bit. Right now my physical activities pretty much center around paintball, golf & fishing.......
If my knees ever become an issue I already have some solutions lined up.....

~ a boat for fishing

Here's an aerial shot that's posted up on the ok/dd website main page. If you look closely at the extreme right side of the pic near the bottom you'll notice some players entering (one with a french flag). The Tribal camp is just above them.
You can see Edwins RV, Andys car, Rustys red truck, Jesses tents and Shiftys suv... the rest of the camp was too the right out of the pic.

Hmmm, I wonder which day that was taken??? It had to be Friday....or Saturday....

It just goes to show you that the turn out was pretty horrible, as last year ---you couldn't have fit any cars anywhere before the Speedball field!!! RV spaces were jam-packed too!!!

Date & time....... even without the posted date on the pic.
The guys on the bottom were part of the parade that was getting ready to take place, notice they aren't many people in or about camps?? Also Rusty's truck was only parked like that Friday. And by the shadows I'd guess around 6pm....?
