OK I am putting things all back together and As I air up I am getting a bad leak from the screw that holds the valve in place. The one inside the grip frame on the underside.

Does this have to be loctited to keep it sealed or have I done something stoopid?

It cycles but i can't get an accurate AOC pressure level with the leak.

Thanks in advance

there should be a o ring between the body and the ASA that seals the ASA to the body, and the Reg o ring should seal it to the ASA. However there are small holes in the body in the same area that can leak if the AOC orings are leaking. I would start by replacing the ASA and reg oring

It should be blue loctited in place, but it shouldn't leak either way. Sounds like the oring closest to the LPR or AOC is cut and leaking......but hmmmm, yuou would be getting air out of your barrel too. Check that oring.

Funny thing is. No air down the barrel.

But I will replace the orings on the Valve and AOC. I can see how this would leak air.

Is there anyway the valve seal could not be closing properly? I seems to be in good condition, but all of the O-rings seem ok too. All of the springs seem to line up as i re-assemble.

The ASA oring seems fine and there is no air leakage around the ASA.

Thanks for the help!

I had the exact same problem as you in a mephisto i got off ebay. It was good as new when I replaced the valve o-rings.

Yep, like DarkStar said, I have had those problems as well. Huge leak out the valve screw, but no leak down the barrel. Just replace the o-rings and see if that does it. Also, check to see how tight the o-rings fit in the lower tube. If they don't fit very tight, then you might want to shim them out, use different o-rings, or use Dow55 to swell them.

The only thing I can think of that would cause it to leak out of the screw and not the barrel is: When you tighten up on the valve screw it jams the valve exhaust vent into the upper part of the body tube making a seal. Ummm, if you can follow that. If the valve screw was blue loctited in place like it should be, then it would definately leak out somewhere else.

Yeah, I think thats what happens, Edwin. I guess just some slightly bigger o-rings or a shimmed out o-ring groove would have to do in that case.

OK,

So I went ahead and replaced all of the O-rings in the Valve Assembly and AOC. I reassembled the Valve and loctited the Valve screw. I aired it up and the leak changed.... oh wait....I forgot to put the Ram back in! DUH.

So I got the Ram in, I am such a looser. ANd Lo and Be-hold it all airs up perfectly!! A little AOC adjustment and it cycles perfectly, no leaks!

I just have to chrono and I am golden! I ran about 50 balls though it this afternoon with no problems at all. I am very pleased. Add it to the Marker rotation!

DON't you guys get sick of always being right!

Really, Thank you all for the continued help and advice. I bought this tribal as a project marker, and so far it has been a blast.

Heck you don't even have to be old to get that. It runs in my family. I started having it about age 13, or maybe I never did have short term memory to begin with...
