I have sets of PDS eyes available on my site. I'm sure Edwin would sell you some as well. Are they the larger, 5mm style?

Well I don't think one set of eyes would work. I not only want to use them on the intimidator but also I was planing on making an IR flashlight for my night vision binocs jus for the heck of it and I found some on ebay 100 for 15.00 but not sure if they will also work as a timmy eye and yes timmys are 5mm.

IR flashlight would be a cool little project. I, or Edwin, might be able to help you out on the LED's if you want to get a bunch.

I was going to try to make a 30 IR led light that I can run off of my hot shoe on my video cam but also use for my night vision and what ever is left see if maybe they will work as a timmy eye and use them instead of the metal cased ones that come on a timmy. We have alot of timmys on our team and 2 freestyles that all use the 5mm eyes jus not sure what kind they can use.lol

Well, your right about getting them on Ebay. I get them all the time for crazy prices.100's for under 15 shipped! There direct from Hong Kong, as most are produced there.

Anyway, Keep looking around on Ebay(Which I'm sure you are) and you'll eventually find one killer deal..

The ones on my site will work for Timmy eyes (I've used them before for that) but they're a bit more pricier (even from where I get them in bulk) than the cheapo ones on Ebay. Most IR LED's are identical though stat wise, its just the package that varies.

Hey warped I was wondering since your all smart and stuff...lol could you figure out how to make eyes like tag has the blue one so called lazer eyes for say the intimidator i would be willing to buy a set off of you if the cost was low and they would work in a defiant..(timmy board) they are 5 mm some say it can't be done but tag is doing for the proto?

Are you talking about the ones that shine red into the breech? To tell you the truth, thats all complete hype and there is no real advantage, but whatever the public wants...

... They also make your gun look all pretty when you look down the barrel or feedneck!! Get them just for that; it's only money :rolleye2:

Yeah I know it would only be as a cosmetic thing to say but it would look cool and the red ones I know where to get them and what to get but they say the blue you can't use but yet tag is doing it for the proto so one must be able to do it for other 3mm or 5mm eyes but how is the question. I was told if you send your marker to them they will do it for you but would he do it to a tribal? if I keep this blue one I have I might want to get eyes in it and blue eyes would look pretty neat as a cosmetic thing...lol

The thing is, the eyes in every pb marker are IR emitting LED's. With the blue and red LED's, they're not designed to emit IR light, but they may as a side effect. I haven't done any experimenting, but I'm thinking it might take a special LED to do the trick. I'll have to dig around here and see what I can find.

The Red LED may be close enough to the Infared Spectrum to emit enough IR light to activate the IR Transistor. You should be OK, but you may have to bump the current to the led, which means less battery life.

Check the LED spec, they should have a wavelength spectrum, and look to see if there is any IR light produced. You have to match wavelengths.

Yeah, most IR LEDs and phototransistors are in the 880-960 wavelength spectrum. It just doesn't seem like using something that is used for something else, but has a byproduct of IR light would be the best idea.

Ok so that idea is dead ...lol
