Hey fellas, I need to get a new gravity feed hopper for my Micromag as my revy is getting persnickety in it's old age and the powerfeed really doesn't get along with my Halo. Since my Halo is also to big for my Tribal feedneck and I won't sand down a $150.00 hopper to fit, I will also be using this new hopper for my Tribal.
After trials with the Tribal, my preferred mode is 3 round burst set at 11BPS. Therefor, any gravity hopper should be able to keep up.
My first choice seems to be the Ricochet Apache, but I would like to know what you guys think would be the best one since I haven't bought a gravity feed hopper in 4 years. Any wisdom or relevant experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would say just wait until you get that clamping feedneck and use your Halo.. ? why not?
that way you basically never chop, and you already have the hopper to use when you get that mod done..

Otherwise I'd use just about anything(Besides an actual grav. fed hopper, no impellor.. omg.. they should be outlawed ahaha):

-ANY Richochet hopper. I had the AK once on my tribal and it looked pretty cool, and never choped.
-Egg, I have a fury chip in my Mephy now and I went BACK to the Y board from the Z, and it works better and I chop less... imagine that..
-halo, you have
-just a standard Xboarded revvy??? I don't see why not?
-Empire Reloader hoppers?

It's all up to you, your taste in style/looks. They all perform nearly the same(in there catagory), so it really comes down to looks..

Cool thanks for the info. What I was worried about is that model of hopper that people have had problems with, but it sounds like most of the modern ones work fairly well. I need the hopper for my Micromag mainly so it has the be a gravity hopper. The revolution is just such an old design I want to try something else. I'm thinking my choice of the Ricochet apache jives well with what your saying. Thanks for the reply!

I've got an Apache and it works great. This post also explains why you lowered your bps from 13 to 10..... you were out shooting the 'ol revy, wern't you? ;) That's o.k. been there done that myself. Rico Apache, x-board revy & halo all work well as stated by BB.

Actually, you are wrong about why I turned down the BPS. At 13 BPS I have problems squeezing off single shots. At 11BPS I can squeeze off individual shots every time. I plan on using the 3 shot burst extensively, but the ability to shoot single shots is not something I want to lose. The extra speed isn't needed. Nobody is going to dodge 3 good shots coming down the pike at 11BPS any easier than 3 at 13BPS, I don't care what the speedball crowd says. I like the slower more rythmic firing rate as I can keep up the pressure longer than my faster firing opponents.

myself on all my single trigger guns i use a revy....just a stock board in it.

as far as the double triggers ..... i have several different electronic upgrades ( warlord , fury with ace , morlock , chaos ) so the halo with a victory board is a must.

Just a thought..... if you prefer to squeeze off shots rather than tap have you thought about resetting the trigger pull? If you back off the trigger stop and set screw so the pull is a little longer you can probably achieve the same trigger effect you seek without losing any bps. Or is it that you prefer an 11bps 3-shot burst over a 13bps 3-shot burst?

Edwin has the best stuff out, check out the CCM feednecks. The no-pro will require you to cut your halo down, so I'd go with the No-rise.

Thats if you just want to use your halo. $35 beats $60+ for a new hopper.

But if you go the new hopper route, I've only heard good things about the Apache. Plus Rico's customer service is great supposedly (free shells), it might be my next hopper actually.

Thats what I was leading too, and IMO I would just get a feedneck that works and use the Halo, even though it's a little.. well A LOT heavier than the other ones.. but like I said, it's your call, and most of the hoppers are generally the same.

My Revvy fit perfectly onto my tribal. I mean perfectly. What really, really sucks is taht I put it on Ebay w/o a reserve and only a few people saw it... :( so it sold dirt cheap...... barely enough to cover shipping costs actually.
take a look for yourself:

I have always had great dealings with Ricochet in the past. I currently just use a stock or X-boarded Revy (can't remember) since my friend still hasn't returned my Halo. If you're looking for something other than a Revy, I would go with a Ricochet. They are good, solid loaders and they have the best customer service I have dealt with.
