Howdy all,
I was sitting on my back porch yesterday shooting off some strings with my tribal when the velocity began to drop noticably. I was shooting 290-300 for 500 rounds or so, and within 25 shots it fallen and then had stabilized at 210fps. The bottle still had 3500PSI so I'm sure that wasn't the issue. My gut instinct since I wasn't adjusting anything is that some gunk worked its way into the stock hpr. If this sounds correct to you guys, then I'll just hang tight until my AKA sidewinder gets here to replace it. If you folks think there is something else that might cause this behavior, let me know and I'll check that out in the meantime. When my toolkit (compliments of Shifty) gets here she's getting the full breakdown, lovin', rebuild treatment anyhow.

Otherwise the guns cycles/shoots fine? No problems? Just the loss of velocity?

Id be nice to have a gauge on those crankin' regs.. do you have a hole tapped in your asa adapter for a gauge? if so I'd say take a looksy at it...

That would be my first thought as well..

Process of elimination.

It could be the HPR, LPR, Noid, or Ram. It could even be a dirty bolt causing the problem.

What are you using for lube???

Most of us here like to use Dow 33 on all orings. I rarely use Gold Cup. I do mix gold cup and dow 33 (50/50 mix) like Warped used to do.

Yeah, I'll probably have to wait till my toolkit gets here to figure this one out.

The bolt was clean as a whistle and I have a little light syn gun oil on it. I don't think that's it.

The LPR hasn't been touched since I got it, but even so, it was 500 rounds or so into my session that my problems started so my gut instinct is that the LPR is fine.

I had been tuning the HPR for velocity at the beginning of the session. That's what makes me think it is the likely culprit.

I haven't been able to break the gun down until I get my 2 prong tool. That will be early next week.

I've gone to putting dow33 on as many things as possible as well. Some things that are steel on steel high speed reciprocating parts, like my Automag bolts, I use a very light synthetic gun oil on and do the clean/reoil thing frequently. Most other things I use the Dow33 on.

My gut feeling is it's the crappy stock HPR. I'll deduce the problem after I break it down completely for inspection and have my guage for retuning it.

Did you look at the HPR rebuild thread?
Also Airsoldier.com has some tech notes about HPR problems

That is stock HPR problems.

You will need a pair of snap ring pliers to get the HPR disassembled.
