Hey guys, my first post, so if i do something dumb, please excuse me :p
Anyway, I have a stock tribal BBT. Im trying to trade it, but i think i need this fixed. It has a small leak right here:

I believe tahts where the LPR would go.(?) anyway, i was told it was just a bad o-ring, so i was wondering, how do i get that cap off? as you can see, i've tried w/ a pair of scissors, and it didnt work, jsut sliped off and scratched it. So, b4 i do anymore prieing, i wanted to know if you guys knew of a household item that can be used.
To my understanding it jsut screws off, but im not positive. Im sure you smart fella's here know :D
Thanks for the advice guys!

If you've got two small allen wrenches that aren't attached to anything, you put one in one hole and the other in the other hole. Grab the right most one, cross it over the top of the left one, and use that to gently twist the cap out. That's about the best way with tools at hand.

dang... it's hard to bend allen wrenches.. did you put one in with the short end, and the other with the long end, then use them as a lever? warped has a pic of it somewhere...
if that doesn't work, it might be red loctited...

Damn!
Okay, left most allen wrench should be inserted long end into hole. Right most should have short end in hole and long bar over the top of left most wrench. Grip both wrenches in one hand and twist both like you're turning a key. If that doesn't work, it's Loctite'd in, need to tap the side of the body around the AOC cap GENTLY with a wooden or leather mallet. If that doesnt' work, I'm all tapped for ideas.
(yeah, I kinda lurk all day long around here)

lol i know its crazy, but for somereason it doesnt want to budge lol.. yes. in the right hole i have one w/ the long end. in the left hole the short one. i press the short one on the side of the long one, and turn... nothing. as a matter of fact, the holes are actually widening. no joke. its gotta be locktited.. i dont really know if tapping it will help.. so im just going to have to trade 'as is'.. btw, im trading for a '04 BKO pds

Not a bad deal, but if you really want to get that out, you can try using snap-ring pliers, found at any hardware store, as they can handle the stress more and proably get that out.
PS don't forget to tell whom ever you trade your gun to about the new TOG.

That is the correct name, but they may laugh at you, inwhich case smack them, and go look for needle nose pliers, as they work also. The snap ring pliers are bent about 1/4 of an inch from the tip, needle nose are not.

try tapping it, it'll probably work if it was blue locktite... it it's red, you'd have to heat it. Make sure he understands it's an easy fix...

How about a little two prong tool???
Don't try riggin the thing as it will scratch up the ano, and when someone buys it from you later on it will be all fucked up. It is probably suck due to lack of grease. You will need some Dow33 too.
Remember they don't make Tribals anymore, so we need to take care of them.
Invest in a 2-prong tool, as it is really needed.
Put a thread in the B/S/T parts forum for a 2-prong and someone will have an extra they can sell you for a few bucks....

just so ya'll know, i just put a pair of needle nose pliers in there, and torqued it for a sec and it came right out(unscrewd)..
SO, after replacing and re-oiling the ring, adding another ring inside of it, and putting mad amounts of teflon tape on there, IT STOPPED LEAKING!!!!! :woot5:
i guess i wont be needing a two prong tool after all Ducky..

yeah.. but its funny, I fixed that leak, and the second i fixed it, another leak started!!. :lol_3: its in my on/off asa. There is a little 'plug' of all-thread basiclaly where i gues you can put a gauge or soemthing.. i've coated it w/ teflon, but it still leaks!??
tit for tat i suppose..

it's just a guage plug? If you can't get a guage plug to stop leaking, you've got problems...

well, at least the tribals not leaking... you could just get a unimount and not have to worry... :jumpingj: lol
try getting some thread sealant stuff... teflon tape isn't actually a very good sealant. It's form of lubricating it. since paintball guns use tapered fittings, they seal as you tighten them down. What teflon tape does if makes it really easy to turn the threads, so you can get the fitting to go in further, so it'll seal better. If telfon tape isn't working, then there are probably dings and stuff in the threads or something, and you're going to need thread sealer. Or a new fitting...
