Is it a lube issue?

HPR should be fine, pretty sure LPR is fine... anyone got any ideas?

What type valve?

The only way air can get into the barrel is through the valve cup or the valve orings. Maybe just an oring or oring lube.

I don't know about electro pneumatics, but with blowback, a leak out the barrel almost ALWAYS means a bad cupseal... lube might help though

Stock valves (cup seal) are horrible. I think Haveblue has some cup seals for the stock valve, or maybe just get a new valve stem and seal. I have had more stock valves leak than hold air.

Let us know what you find.

On a stock valve there are only three ways for air to get to the ball.
1. Cup Seal
2. Front Valve Oring (AOC/LPR side)
3. Rear Valve Oring (If it is coming from this one you have a serious problem)

Most likely 1 or 2

In some cases a dinged valve face can also be the culprit - when porting out valves, I generally make a light facing cut on the front to the valve to clean it up. NW cupseals are excellent and highly recommended.
