I set a Halo B up with Victory Board & Zenitram Cone and it was fast but then I added a Shocktech Cone Spring and Speed Wheel. Then it was super fast.
I also set up another test halo with Cheetah Board with Zenitram Cone, Shocktech Cone Spring and Speed Wheel and it was super, super, super fast. Plus it has the auto-antijam and shoots dark paint. But you need dark halo shell because of sunlight affect the eyes.
Plus a side note, everyone is going to the no-rise or low-rise with the halo. But I’ve found that I can see the field (Speed Ball) better with a mid-rise or high-rise. Now I hold my marker between my eyes or the back of the marker inline with my nose. If I used the no-rise I had to hold my head to one side or the other, so the other team was seeing my marker and halo before I could see them. Plus my halo is not above my head or mask with this set up.
What do you think?

Great post.
The reason for the no-pro (at least as I was told) is to get a faster response from the loader. The eye are suppose to sense the ball drop quicker with a shorter neck.

I thought it was more for a lower (smaller) profile, but you said makes sense, KY.

Lower profile too, but it is a performance upgrade also.

I've also noticed in some of the paintball magazine some of the Pro are using a mid-rise or high-rise. If you have one try it, that's what I did & I love it, plus about all the player on our team are going that way. I think it's like everyone went from the no drop & air tank to the big drops, back to the no drops now because it works better. And you have to buy new parts, LOL.
Side note, if most of the tournaments go to the 15 bps Ramping, I may go back to the viewloader (Holds more paint, lighter and smaller profile.) & I think I can get maybe 15 bps out of a viewloader with High-rise :lool:

It really depends on how people hold their guns. Smaller guns like shockers and freestyles, you see more often with mid/high rises just because like you described, the hopper will get in the way.
For guns like timmys, dm's, proto's, and cockers, the standard height is fine, and no-pros can make it a lil too low. But also, it depends on how you sight your gun, along side and to the top of the barrel, or below it. I tend to sight to the side and below the barrel so hopper position doesn't affect me as much.
To me, I can't stand high rises just because it throws off the center of gravity for guns for me. I like the hopper being somewhat close to the gun so it doesn't wobble as much while snapping. Also I like the lower profile.

The way I see it is: It is all just a Fad. Yes they have their reasons for doing everything, but their reasons change so quickly.
If your good, your good that is all that counts. The add ons really don't give much of an edge.
Now saying that, I real suck so I have nothing to worry about. :D

True in most cases it a personal thing, but in some cases it’s just a plain fact. Things like hopper color, have you ever played on an indoor field with lights, a clear hopper looks like big sign that says hit me. I was just posting some things to try or things that I have notice. Don't get hooked on what's new or everybody else is buying it. Try things first let your friend buy it and then you can try it for free. :offtopic:
Back on Hopper test OK I putting some base prices down for parts.
(1) If I were buying a new halo I would get it with Rip Drive about $5 or $10 more.
(2) If I had a Halo and I was happy with it I would leave it along.
(3) But if I were going to add something it would be a Delrin Drive Cone because the stock cone breaks. (Total: $19.95 upgrade)
(4) If I wanted to speed it up a little I would get the Shocktech Halo speed wheel $14.95 & Maybe the spring because it would help with jams $4.95 Plus the Drive cone $19.95 (Total: $39.95)
(5) But if my Halo didn’t have Rip Drive I would get the Shocktech kit for $44.95
(6) Want a little more speed I would get the Victory Board & Drive cone total: $54.90
(7) A little more speed to the victory board & Drive cone then add the Speed wheel & spring Total: $74.00
(8) Super fast, plus anti-jam then get the Cheetah Board & Cone Total: $99.00
(9) For a faster Halo add the Boost Battery pack, Speed Wheel, & Spring to that for $199.85
(10) Hell just gets the Halo Boost Custom Hopper for $325.00 Add Rip Drive for
$23.95, Speed wheel for $14.95 & spring for $4.95 Total: 368.85 plus shipping. Do I here $400 plus anyone, LOL but now I can shoot 40 Plus bps or
(11) I can get the 12 Volt Viewloader Revy Revolution Hopper with Xboard 10-
12bps BLACK for $44.00 and add a high rise, propeller and maybe get 15 bps
in short bursts.
Base Halo with z code & rip = about $120.00 div by 20 bps = about $6.00 a bps.
Halo with all the add on = about $375. 00 div by 40 bps = about $9.37 a bps.
Viewloader = about $50.00 div. by 15 bps in bursts= $3.33 a bps.
But my phantom = about $295.00 div. 2 bps = $147.50 a bps. :lol_3:
I've got to get a life. :classicb:

nah the phantom has an autotrigger so you can get 2 bps with it, 3 if you just want balls in the air and don't care about hitting anything.

You may be right right, I have a stock phantom and I may be able to get 2 bps but I don't think I can get 3 bps. So I'm changing that to two ball per second or $147.50 bps

That is some good information kyt.
I going to run out and purchase the 40bps Halo, because I want to blow $400.
Then I will spend another $1500 on some mad mods to my Tribal to get it to pull 40bps.

I think the pendulum has swung as far right as it can. It’s going to swing back the other way now. I think the 20 plus balls spray thing is just about over at most tournaments. Player are a little slow on some things but I think most are going to realize that if they can only shoot 15 bps in most tournaments, why should they buy a board & hopper that shoots 40 or 50 bps. Then they are going to start looking for things that allow them to put all 15 bps in a coffee can at 30 & 40 yards & getting back to the 15 shot, one kill thing. :soapbox:

Actually, one of the major upgrades that has made paintmarkers more consistent of aim, shot to shot, is the electronic trigger. The lighter the trigger pull, the less side-to-side motion you get with the muzzle of your weapon. The less muzzle wiggle, the more likely you are to put paint into the same area downfield. This becomes especially noticeable when a player is trying to put lots of paint downfield: they're struggling to reach a higher bps and instead of working on their trigger squeeze (the human finger pulls more to the side instead of directly front to back) like all good riflemen, they're just yanking away. With the "less than mouse click" triggers, they merely have to tap the trigger, so no yanking occurs, merely a drumming that wiggles the muzzle very little.
As well, the other increase in accuracy has come thru improvements in air systems and regulators. With each shot being pushed out of the barrel with a volume and pressure of air more similar to the previous paintball and the next paintball, the shots are more likely to fall in the same place over and over again. Yet this improvement in technology too was pointed at firing faster, firing longer ropes of paint, not improving accuracy at all. Funny how things work like that.
Similar to all this is the pursuit of less reciprocating mass. Yes, it makes the marker cycle faster, but it also reduces the kick of the marker cycling - otherwise known as recoil. Recoil, much like trigger squeeze, makes the muzzle move, giving inconsistant shot groups, except up and down instead of side to side. Recoil has lessened by improvements to make markers shoot faster, and its effects are felt less due to a change in firing stances. Recoil is especially felt with pistol gripped weapons, as the recoil occurs inline with the moving mass (the exertion of force to fire the paintball out the barrel is usually very little) which is over the hand, 'causing it to be the pivot point. Because we now drum our fingers on the trigger with our firing hand free of the grip, while our off hand is gripping the inline, and bracing the tank against the shoulder. With this wide spacing of braces, the muzzle wiggles even less from recoil and trigger pull, and gives (everybody together now) a more consistant shot grouping.
Sorry, had some thoughts rumbling through my head and they diarrhea'd all over your post. My bad...

Sorry my computer is slow, dail up so no video. Both are fast but for the money I would go with the wheel & spring, a lot cheaper. If you play a lot of tournament speed ball then I would get the Cheetah Board with anti-ja.

My Phantom pump is ACCURATE and we have played with it if we are real far ahead or behind in a tournament. My middle son shot one guy out then bumper a guy with a ramping marker with the pump, also took on a guy with a ramping matrix one on one and won, LOL. I think the man from Texas liked my pump, but it's still here in Kentucky, couldn't let that out the door.
