Equotip D Portable Metal Hardness Tester

Equotip Harness Tester The Equotip harness tester is designed for testing metallic materials the hardness of which ranges from low to very high values. Hardness testing can be performed directly on-site and in any position. Typical applications for the Equotip instrument are large, heavy work pieces which are difficult to access. It is especially suitable for application in which static harness testing is either not feasible or not economical, but not limited to these applications. Small lightweight applications are also possible. Please refer to manual for all specifications.
Equotip Measuring Method The hardness measurement carried out with the Equotip hardness tester is a dynamic method predicated upon the principle of energy measurement (EQUO = E nergy - QUO tient ). During a hardness test, an impact body, equipped with a spherically shaped tungsten carbide test tip impacts under spring force against the test surface from which it rebounds. Impact and rebound velocities are measured in a contact less manner at the precise moment, when the spherically shaped tungsten carbide test tip is located approximately 1mm from the test surface. The measurement values derived from the impact and rebound velocities are processed into the hardness value of number L by the indicating device.

Report will be done at the end of the auction, so a full 1 year calibration is included. This harness tester was tested and is fully functional as described by the manufacturer, and operates to those specifications. Since the unit will be calibrated before shipping it will receive a final test assuring that you receive a perfect hardness tester. This unit is in EXCELLENT shape as seen in the actual pictures.

This is one side of the Test Block D that shows how little it has been used. Several Hundred measurements are still available on this side.
This is the other side of the Test Block D that has not been used at all. Equotip Test Blocks are two sided and hundreds of measurements can be made on each side.
This is a picture of the two Support Rings that are included. D6 is the large diameter and D6a is the smaller diameter. D6 is used to support the device while making a measurement. D6a does the same thing, except you can get closer to a weld or other obstacle.
The cleaning brush is an important part of the Equotip kit. Because the impact body slides up and down in the Impact Device tube, it will collect dust and debris on the body that will need cleaning. This brush is used to clean the body and the slide tube
This is almost a full jar of Couplant Paste. It is used to support light or thin specimens to make an accurate hardness measurement.
The Shipping Case is included in the Auction, and it holds all of the included items and more. If you add more impact devices at a later date this case has the room. Nice strong cases like this just aren't included with new units anymore.
